2023 MFJ Return Filed Feb 7 - Still Processing After a Month with No Updates on IRS2Go App
I filed my taxes on February 7th as Married-Filing Joint and my transcript is still showing N/A when I check WMR. I've been checking the IRS2Go app constantly, and it's stuck on the first stage. The app shows my filing status as "Married-Filing Joint" and displays the three-stage progress tracker with only "Received" highlighted, while "Approved" and "Sent" remain grayed out. The message on the app literally says: "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." No progress bars are filled in beyond the first one. There's additional text stating: "For more information about processing delays, please see our Refund Frequently Asked Questions." And then "Please Note: For refund information, please continue to check here, or visit IRS.gov/Refunds. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day." I've been religiously checking the app every day (the screenshot was taken at 9:02 with my phone at 34% battery), and nothing has changed for weeks now. The app has the same interface with the five menu options at the bottom: Refunds, Payments, Tax Help, Connect, and Security. It's been over a month since I filed. Is anyone else experiencing this lengthy delay? I expected at least some movement in the status by now. Does the IRS2Go app actually update regularly, or should I be checking somewhere else? Has anyone successfully contacted the IRS about delays this tax season? Getting worried that something might be wrong with my return.

The IRS2Go app shows your return is in the initial processing stage, with only the "Received" status marked and both "Approved" and "Sent" stages still pending. For a return filed on February 7th with Married-Filing Joint status, this status display is typical during early tax season. While the IRS's standard processing time is 21 days, your transcript showing N/A and the app's "still being processed" message indicate your return is in the standard verification queue. The app's note about updates occurring "no more than once a day" means checking multiple times per day won't show new information - daily morning checks are sufficient. The referral to the Refund FAQ page typically indicates there are no specific issues, just standard processing delays. For Married-Filing Joint returns filed in early February, it's common to see this status for 2-3 weeks while the IRS verifies both spouses' information and processes the return through their system. Continue monitoring your status through either IRS2Go or IRS.gov/Refunds for updates.

•Thanks for explaining! Do you know how long until I might see movement?

•Usually you'll see updates between 2-4 weeks, but with the backlog this year its anyones guess tbh

Hey, I was in the same boat last week until I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It's seriously amazing - for $1 it told me exactly why my return was delayed and when to expect movement. Way better than trying to decode everything ourselves! https://taxr.ai

Did you claim EIC or CTC? Those credits usually make processing take longer

My transcripts were N/A for like 6 weeks last year before anything updated. The waiting game is rough 😮💨
