Filed 2/10/25 - Return Not Showing as Received? TurboTax Payment Tracking Help

I filed my return on 2/10/25 and it's still not showing as received or processed. This is concerning as: ā€¢ Last year I filed on 2/11 (a Sunday) and received my direct deposit by 2/23 ā€¢ I recall returns being processed in batches but can't remember how to determine which batch I'm in ā€¢ WMR is showing no return on file for this year ā€¢ I need to verify I didn't make an error in my submission Can anyone confirm if they're experiencing similar delays with early February filings? EDIT: I also need assistance determining how to check if TurboTax has received their payment from my refund. I opted to have their fee deducted from my refund but can't recall how to verify this transaction. Any guidance would be appreciated.

The IRS is running about 5-7 days behind on processing compared to last year. Your 2/10 filing would normally be in the second February batch, but this year they're backing up. Don't panic yet - the system often updates in bulk, so you might see nothing for days then suddenly everything at once. Check your e-file confirmation from TurboTax to make sure it was actually accepted by the IRS, not just submitted. For the TurboTax fee question, log into your account, go to Orders & Downloads, then look for the payment status there.

I had the exact same issue last week - filed 2/8 and nothing was showing up. I started using https://taxr.ai to check my transcript once it finally appeared. It explained all those cryptic codes and gave me a much clearer picture of what was happening with my return. Last year I spent hours trying to decipher what cycle code 20230805 meant, but taxr.ai broke it all down for me. Definitely made the waiting game less stressful since I could actually understand what was happening.

Has anyone actually verified this site is legit? Seems like there are a lot of tax scams out there rn. Not trying to be negative, just cautious w/ my personal info these days...

Be careful about assuming this year will follow last year's pattern. The IRS implemented new verification measures for returns filed in 2025 that are causing widespread delays for early filers. I've seen multiple cases where returns filed in early February are taking 3+ weeks just to show up in the system. The bigger issue is that if you claimed certain credits, you might be flagged for additional verification without any notification.

That's so frustrating! I'm in the same boat and feeling really anxious. Did the people you know eventually get their refunds without having to call in? I'm wondering if I should just wait it out or be proactive.

According to IRS Publication 5192, the new verification measures are primarily targeting returns with Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit claims. Did you claim either of these credits on your return? That might explain the delay.

Thanks for this insight. I was getting worried since I'm counting on my refund for some upcoming expenses. Guess I'll need to adjust my expectations this year.

I filed on February 9th and just had my return appear in the system yesterday (March 2nd). Exactly 21 days later. Last year it only took 8 days to show up. The IRS is definitely operating on a different timeline this season.

I've been filing with TurboTax for about 7 years now. When you choose to have the fees taken from your refund, TurboTax actually sets up a temporary bank account where your refund goes first, they take their cut, then forward the rest to your actual bank account. That's why it sometimes takes 1-2 days longer to get your money. To check on this, log into TurboTax, go to your account settings, then "Your Order." You should see a status indicator for the payment. If it still says "Pending," they haven't received your refund yet. Once they get it, it'll change to "Complete."

This is exactly right. Many people don't realize the refund actually goes through a third party first when you select that payment option. Thanks for explaining this clearly.

I was in the same situation last week - nothing showing up after filing on 2/12. I tried calling the IRS main number about 15 times over 3 days and couldn't get through. Finally used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) and got connected to an IRS agent in about 30 minutes. Unlike other tax services I've tried, they don't need any of your personal info - they just connect you to the IRS phone line. The agent confirmed my return was in the system but just hadn't updated online yet. Compared to spending days trying to get through, it was worth it just to confirm nothing was wrong with my return.

For checking your TurboTax payment status specifically: 1. Log into your TurboTax account online (not the app) 2. Click on "Your Account" in the top right corner 3. Select "Your Order" from the dropdown menu 4. Look for "Order Details" - this will show your e-file status 5. Check for "Payment Method" - it should say "Refund Transfer" if you chose to pay from your refund 6. Status will show as "Pending" until they receive the refund from IRS 7. Once processed, it changes to "Complete" If you don't see this information, you may need to go to Orders & Downloads instead, depending on which version of TurboTax you used. The temporary bank account they set up typically has a number that starts with "1" followed by your SSN, then some other digits.

Just to clarify something about the "batches" you mentioned - the IRS processes returns in what they call cycles, which is like saying your tax return is on a specific train that arrives at certain stations on a schedule. Your cycle code appears on your transcript once it's available and tells you which day of the week your account updates. For example, if you're on cycle 05, your account updates on Thursdays. This is why some people see updates on different days than others. Does that help explain the batch processing you were trying to remember?

Community wisdom this tax season: patience is more important than ever. šŸ˜… The IRS is dealing with staffing shortages, new tax law implementations, and higher verification rates. What I've gathered from hundreds of posts here: 1. Early February filers are seeing 3-4 week processing times instead of the usual 2-3 weeks 2. WMR is updating slower than the actual processing (many people get deposits before WMR updates) 3. Transcripts are more reliable than WMR but still lag behind actual processing 4. If you have a refund date on your transcript, you can trust it regardless of what WMR shows 5. The "no return filed" message is common even when your return was successfully accepted Hang in there - almost everyone is getting their refunds, just on a slower timeline than previous years.
