2023 Tax Return stuck on 'Received' status - No DDD yet after filing Jan 21

Filed my taxes on January 21st and WMR still shows 'return received' with no deposit date. Previous years were quick but this year nothing is moving. Anyone else experiencing this or know what's going on?

The IRS is currently processing returns in the order received, but they're experiencing significant delays. If you claimed EITC or CTC, there's an automatic hold until mid-February. Check your transcript for any codes - that'll tell you more than WMR.

Go to irs.gov, create an account if you haven't already, and look for 'Get Transcript Online' option. You'll need ID verification.

honestly the best way to understand whats going on is to use taxr.ai - it reads your transcript and tells you exactly whats happening and when youll get paid. its only $1 and WAY better than trying to decode everything yourself. heres the link: https://taxr.ai
