Filed 1/30, ID Verification Complete - Transcript Still Blank But Verification Notice Disappeared?

Good morning all, would like to ask a question if I may? I filed on 1/30/24 and it was accepted the same day, which seemed promising. I had to verify my identity (did it by phone last Friday). I'm an 05 cycle and my transcript is still somewhat blank with no codes. I just checked this morning and noticed that my verification notification appears to be gone from my account. Would it be possible, in your experience, that I might update with codes and possibly a deposit date tomorrow morning? I'm trying to be patient but it's getting a bit difficult with all my other responsibilities to manage.

Based on the current processing patterns, the disappearance of your verification notification is typically indicative of successful identity authentication integration with your return. For cycle 05 filers, transcript updates generally occur on Wednesday night/Thursday morning during the weekly processing cycle. The absence of codes post-verification suggests your return has reentered normal processing channels. Would recommend checking your transcript again tomorrow morning between 3-6am EST when the overnight batch processing completes.

This matches my experience exactly. My verification notice disappeared on a Tuesday, and by Thursday morning at 4:37am my transcript had fully populated with codes 150, 570, and 971. DDD came exactly 7 days later. The timing of these verification completions seems highly predictable within the IRS processing framework.

I was stuck in verification limbo for THREE WEEKS last month. 😩 Called the regular IRS number like 47 times (not exaggerating) and kept getting the "high call volume" message. Finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got through to a human in like 15 minutes. The agent confirmed my verification was complete but hadn't fully processed in their system. Two days after that call my transcript updated! Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person to move things along.

Thank you all for the responses. I've been checking exactly every 24 hours at 6:15am and it's been exactly 8 days since my verification. I'm relieved to hear that the notification disappearing is potentially a good sign. I'll check again tomorrow at precisely 4:30am to see if there are any updates.

So grateful for this community! I've been stressing about the EXACT same situation and this thread is helping me understand what's happening. The waiting is just so frustrating when you're trying to plan financially!

Check transcript codes carefully. Look for 570/971 sequence. This indicates review. If you see 846, that's your refund date. Verification disappearing is positive. System is processing. Use taxr.ai to decode transcript. It explains each code. Shows timeline predictions. Better than guessing. Worth checking out: https://taxr.ai

Did you have any credits on your return like Child Tax Credit or Earned Income? I had almost the identical situation last month and my transcript stayed blank for nearly two weeks after verification disappeared, then suddenly everything appeared at once. I think certain credits trigger additional review even after verification.

I'm wondering if the type of verification affects processing time? Did you verify by phone like OP or did you use ID.me online? I used the online method and I'm trying to gauge if that makes the process faster or slower.

I've been through this exact scenario three times in the past four years. In 2022, my verification notice disappeared on a Tuesday, and I saw transcript codes appear that Thursday. In 2023, it took until the following Monday. This year, it was exactly 3 business days between the notification disappearing and my transcript updating. The system seems to be running a bit more efficiently this year compared to previous years, so I'd expect you'll see movement within 2-4 business days based on current patterns.

Just FYI - the "05" cycle means ur transcript updates on Thursdays, but WMR might update before that. Also, the verification disappearing is def a good sign. It means ur back in normal processing. Btw, did u claim any credits? CTC or EIC can add extra time bc of PATH Act rules.

Thank you for explaining the cycle code meaning! I've seen people mention this but never understood what the numbers actually mean for processing. Makes so much more sense now why some people see updates on different days of the week.

I'd like to add some clarification about cycle codes: • First digit (0) = processing year • Second digit (5) = processing day (5 = Thursday) • Remaining digits = batch number This is why checking on your specific cycle day is important. The system processes returns in batches based on these assigned cycles.

Just to clarify one point - while cycle codes determine when your transcript updates, the actual deposit can happen on a different schedule. I've seen cases where people with 05 cycles got deposits on Wednesdays, while others had to wait until the following week. It's similar to how tax returns with education credits tend to process differently than those with just W-2 income.

Have you checked your account transcript in addition to your return transcript? Sometimes the account transcript will show pending actions before the return transcript updates. Also, what was the method you used to verify your identity? The phone verification sometimes processes faster than the in-person verification at TAC offices.

According to Internal Revenue Manual 21.5.6.4.35.3, identity verification resolution typically completes processing within 9 business days. The removal of the verification notice from your account indicates successful authentication per IRM 3.13.5.30. For cycle code 05 accounts, the main processing occurs Wednesday nights, with transcript visibility by Thursday morning. Your timing aligns perfectly with standard processing parameters for post-verification returns.

I just went through this exact thing. Verification notice disappeared Monday, transcript updated Thursday morning at 3am with all codes and a DDD for the following Wednesday. Money hit my account exactly on that date. No more blank transcript! Hang in there.
