IRS2Go App Error "Information Does Not Match" After Triple-Checking My 2023 Joint Return Information

I spent hours making sure everything on my 2023 return was perfect but keep getting an error message when I try to submit. Already checked all the math, verified my SSN, and made sure all forms are filled out. I'm using the IRS2Go app to check my refund status by entering my information exactly as shown on my tax return. I understand this tool is updated no more than once every 24 hours, but I keep getting a "Refund Status Error" message saying "Information does not match. Please reenter your information." I've tried multiple times and I'm still getting the same error. I filed as Married-Filing Joint and I'm positive all the information I entered matches my return exactly. I've triple-checked my filing status, SSN, refund amount - everything. Could this just mean the system is backed up and my file is pending? Anyone else getting errors today? I'm really frustrated after spending so much time making sure everything was perfect on my return only to be stuck on this error screen. Is the IRS2Go app having issues, or is there something I'm missing?

Tax pro here - what specific error message are you getting? Without knowing the exact error code, it's hard to diagnose. Could be anything from server issues to form validation problems. Most 'pending' files don't generate errors, they just show as processing.

it just says 'submission error' with no specific code šŸ˜© super frustrating

That's likely a system timeout. Try submitting again during off-peak hours (early morning or late evening).

Hey there! Instead of playing the guessing game, you should try taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on. Worth the $4.99 to avoid all this confusion. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

Oh yeah it works! Saved me hours of headache. It basically scans everything and gives you a clear explanation of what's happening + next steps

Its probably the IRS servers being overloaded rn. Tax season = everyone trying to file at once
