Anyone with a 570 Code Finally Get an Update on Transcript?
I've had a 570 code (Additional Account Action Pending) on my transcript for about 3 weeks now. It seems like people who filed around the same time but didn't get a 570 have already received their refunds. Has anyone who had this code actually seen movement recently? I'm wondering if this is similar to last year when some people were stuck for months while others moved through quickly. I'm trying to keep an open mind about the process, but starting to wonder if I should be concerned or if this is just normal for 2024.

Yes, many people with 570 codes are getting updates. It's not a death sentence for your refund. 570 just means they need to review something. Could be identity verification, could be a math error, could be nothing serious at all. Most 570 codes resolve within 4-6 weeks without you doing anything. Don't panic unless you get an actual letter explaining a problem.

•This is probably the most accurate answer I've seen on here about 570 codes. People tend to catastrophize when they see any hold code, but in my experience, most of these do resolve themselves within the timeframe you mentioned.

When did u file? And did u claim any credits like CTC or EIC? Those tend to get more scrutiny. Also, do u have any other codes on ur transcript besides the 570? Sometimes there's a 971 that follows which means they're sending a notice.

I was freaking out about my 570 code last month! So stressful when you're counting on that money! I finally used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it explained exactly what was happening with my specific codes. It showed me that my 570 was paired with a 971 (notice issued) but the amounts matched, so it was likely just a verification delay, not an audit. Sure enough, I got my DDD a week later! Saved me so much anxiety knowing what was actually happening instead of just guessing.

•• Is this actually legit? • Does it cost money? • What does it tell you that you can't figure out yourself? • How does it know what's happening with your specific return?

•I was skeptical too! Here's what happened when I tried it: 1. Uploaded my transcript (you can just screenshot it) 2. It analyzed all the codes together, not just individual ones 3. Explained that my specific combination meant a processing review, not an audit 4. Gave me a timeline based on similar patterns 5. Predicted my refund date within 2 days of when I actually got it The IRS explanations are so generic, but this looked at the full picture of my specific situation.

•I looked into this after seeing it mentioned on r/tax. It uses pattern recognition from thousands of transcripts to identify what specific code combinations typically mean. The IRS website just gives generic descriptions of each code, but doesn't explain what it means when they appear together or in certain sequences.

•Does it ask for personal information? I'm always cautious about tax-related services since they could be phishing attempts. Did you have to create an account or anything?

I had a 570 code that showed up on March 1st. Isn't it weird how some people have theirs resolved in days while others wait weeks or months? Mine finally updated yesterday with a DDD of April 12th. No rhyme or reason to it that I could tell. Never got any letters or had to verify anything. The system is just slow sometimes?

•This happened to me last year too! I remember checking my transcript every day for 5 weeks straight with no movement, then suddenly it updated with a DDD. Such a relief after all that waiting.

•Did you have any other codes besides the 570? Was there a 971 code as well? The specific combination of codes can tell you a lot about what's happening behind the scenes.

•Check WMR today. Transcript updates first. Deposit usually 5-7 days after DDD appears.

So here's a fun fact about 570 codes - they're basically the IRS's way of saying "we're thinking about your return." 😂 But seriously, if you're tired of the waiting game, I called the IRS using Claimyr (https://claimyr.com). Got through in about 15 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. The agent explained that my 570 was just a random review and cleared it while I was on the phone. Got my DDD two days later. Sometimes all it takes is getting a human on the line who can actually look at your account.

•Is this a paid service? Seems like something the IRS should provide for free. Why should we have to pay extra just to talk to someone about our taxes?

•I used Claimyr too! Best $20 I ever spent. I had been trying to call for THREE WEEKS with no luck. Either busy signals or disconnected after waiting on hold for hours. Got through in 18 minutes with them. The agent was able to release my 570 hold immediately once I verified my identity.

•How does this actually work? Do they have some special line to the IRS or something? Seems too good to be true that they can get you through when the regular line is always busy.

•It's just an automated system that does the calling and waiting for you. They call the same IRS numbers everyone else does, but they have algorithms that know the best times to call and which menu options to select. When they get a human, they connect you. Saved me from having to redial 50+ times and sit on hold for hours.

I've seen exactly 37 posts about 570 codes in the last month. Almost all of them resolved within 21 days without any action. The ones that took longer typically had identity verification issues. What concerns me is that the IRS is using more automated filters this year, which means more false positives and more delays. But the data suggests most 570 codes are just routine processing delays.

My 570 code finally resolved after 32 days of no movement! Here's what happened: 1. Filed electronically on February 2nd 2. Return accepted same day 3. Transcript updated with 570 code on February 15th 4. No movement for over a month despite checking daily 5. Called IRS on March 18th after waiting period 6. Agent said it was a random review flag 7. Transcript updated March 20th with 571 code (reversal of 570) 8. DDD appeared for March 25th So frustrated with how long it took, but at least it's done now!

•Did you receive any notices in the mail during this time? Sometimes they send something explaining the 570 but it arrives after the issue is already resolved.

•Thanks for sharing this detailed timeline! This is exactly the kind of information that helps others understand what to expect. The 571 code is definitely what everyone with a 570 wants to see.

•Did you have to provide any additional information to the IRS agent when you called? Or did they just release it after reviewing your account?

•What number did you call to reach them? I've been trying the main IRS number for days with no luck.

I had a 570 code appear on March 3rd, 2024. It was resolved on March 17th with no action on my part. My refund was deposited on March 22nd. From what I've gathered, if your 570 is accompanied by a 971 code with the same date, it's usually just a review that resolves itself. If the dates are different or there are other codes, that might indicate a more complex issue.

I've been dealing with a 570 code since February 28th - so about 5 weeks now. Filed early expecting a quick refund but here we are! What's frustrating is seeing people who filed after me already get their money. I called the IRS last week and they said it's just a "review" but couldn't give me any timeline. The agent mentioned that 2024 has had more random reviews than usual due to new fraud detection systems. At least reading everyone's experiences here makes me feel less alone in this waiting game. Hoping to see movement soon!

•I'm in a similar boat - filed February 20th and got the 570 code on March 5th. It's definitely frustrating watching others get their refunds while we're stuck waiting! I've been checking my transcript obsessively (probably not helping my stress levels). From what I've read here and other forums, it seems like 2024 really has had more of these random review holds. Hang in there - sounds like most people are seeing resolution within 4-6 weeks even if it feels like forever!

I'm dealing with a 570 code that appeared on my transcript March 10th, so coming up on 4 weeks now. Filed February 18th and was accepted the same day. Like many others here, it's frustrating seeing people who filed later already get their refunds! I've been resisting the urge to call the IRS since I know they'll just tell me to wait, but reading everyone's experiences here is really helpful. It's reassuring to see that most 570 codes do resolve themselves within the 4-6 week timeframe that keeps getting mentioned. The waiting is definitely the hardest part, especially when you're counting on that refund for bills or other expenses. Thanks to everyone sharing their timelines - it helps keep perspective that this is unfortunately just part of the process this year.

•I totally understand the frustration! I'm in week 3 of my 570 code and it's so hard not to obsessively check the transcript daily. What's been helping me is setting a reminder to only check once a week instead of multiple times per day. The waiting really is the worst part, especially when you see others getting their refunds so quickly. From everything I've read here, it sounds like 4-6 weeks is pretty normal for these reviews in 2024, so you're right in that timeframe. Hang in there - hopefully we'll both see movement soon!

I'm currently on week 4 with a 570 code that appeared March 1st. Filed January 30th and got accepted same day. What's been eating at me is seeing friends who filed in March already get their refunds while I'm still waiting! I finally broke down and called the IRS yesterday using one of those callback services mentioned here. The agent was actually really helpful - said my 570 is paired with a 971 notice code but the amounts match exactly, which apparently means it's just a standard review, not an audit or math error. She couldn't give me an exact timeline but said most reviews like mine are completing within 21-42 business days. I'm trying to stay patient but it's tough when you're expecting that money for spring expenses. At least knowing it's not something serious helps with the anxiety!

•That's really helpful information about the 571/971 code combination! I've been wondering what it means when those codes appear together. It's reassuring to hear from an actual IRS agent that matching amounts typically indicate a routine review rather than something more serious. The 21-42 business day timeline seems to align with what most people are reporting here. Thanks for sharing what the agent told you - that kind of specific information is so much more useful than the generic explanations you find on the IRS website.

I'm on day 18 with my 570 code that showed up March 15th. Filed February 25th, accepted same day. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been so helpful - it really shows that most of these do resolve within that 4-6 week window everyone keeps mentioning. What I find interesting is how random it seems to be. My neighbor filed the same day as me with similar circumstances and got her refund 3 weeks ago, while I'm still waiting. The IRS really does seem to be using more automated flags this year. I'm trying to hold off on calling until I hit the 21-day mark, but the temptation to check my transcript daily is real! Thanks to everyone sharing their timelines and outcomes - it definitely helps with the anxiety of not knowing what's happening behind the scenes.
