Anyone with TaxSmart file showing deposit date of 3/12 received their refund yet?
Filed my taxes with TaxSmart on February 10th. My return was accepted on February 12th and I checked my refund status yesterday. It shows my deposit date is March 12th but haven't seen anything in my bank account yet. I'm getting a little anxious since I'm counting on this money. Has anyone else who filed with TaxSmart with the same deposit date received their refund already? Just wondering if there's typically a delay or if I should be concerned at this point.

I filed with TaxSmart too, and my deposit date was March 10th. The money hit my account exactly on that date, right around noon. The IRS is usually pretty accurate with their deposit dates, but sometimes your bank might hold it for 1-2 business days. I'd give it until tomorrow before getting worried. If you haven't received anything by Friday, you might want to contact your bank to see if there are any pending deposits they can see.

•Thanks for the info. I bank with Chase and they usually process pretty quickly. I'll wait till Friday before I start stressing out too much.

•My credit union sometimes holds IRS deposits for 24 hours for 'verification' or whatever. Super annoying but they always come through eventually.

•exactly this^^^ most banks have a hold policy on government checks. its standard procedure and nothing to worry about!

I was in a similar situation and was trying to track my refund status like a detective every day. Using taxr.ai changed everything for me! It analyzed my transcript, explained all the weird codes, and gave me the exact timeline of when my refund would arrive. Saved me hours of frustration trying to figure it out myself. Way better than just checking the refund status tool that barely tells you anything. https://taxr.ai

•Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

•It does SO MUCH MORE than just read transcripts! It analyzes all those confusing codes, explains what each status means in plain English, and gives you a prediction of when your refund will actually hit your account. Saved me from checking WMR 50 times a day 😂 It can even identify if there are issues with your return that might cause delays. Honestly its been a game changer for me this tax season!

•Not an ad at all! Just sharing what worked for me after weeks of obsessively checking my transcript and not understanding any of it. I was literally losing sleep over my refund status and this tool made everything clear. Try it or don't, just trying to help others in the same boat 🤷♀️

After waiting for WEEKS with no movement on my refund, I finally found a way to actually talk to someone at the IRS. Used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they got me past the busy signals and endless holds. Had an actual human IRS agent on the phone within an hour who explained exactly what was happening with my return. Best thing I ever did to get my refund questions answered instead of stressing about it day after day.

•Did this actually work? I've been calling for 3 days straight and keep getting the "try again later" message 😫

•Yes! Totally worked. I was skeptical at first but was desperate after trying to call like 20 times myself. The service basically navigates all the phone prompts and waits on hold for you, then calls you when they get an agent. Talking to a real person at the IRS got my refund released within days. It saved me so much time and frustration.

•this sounds like a scam...how do they even get through when nobody else can?

•Not a scam at all! They use some kind of automated system that keeps trying different IRS numbers and menu options until they get through. I was super skeptical too but was at my wits end. The conversation with the IRS agent cleared everything up and my refund was processed right after. Honestly it was worth every penny to finally get answers instead of guessing what was happening with my money.

•Does it work for amended returns too? I've been waiting 11 months for mine 😭

•Yep! Works for any IRS issue. My friend used it for an amended return problem and got through to someone who could actually help. Beats waiting on hold for 3+ hours or getting disconnected!

I filed with TaxSmart too and had a DD date of March 12th. My refund hit my account early this morning. Maybe check your account again? Sometimes they post overnight.

Same deposit date for me (3/12) but I filed with TurboTax not TaxSmart. Still waiting on mine too. The IRS website still shows the 12th as the date. I'll give it till Friday before I start to worry.

Pro tip: Check the IRS transcript NOT the Where's My Refund tool. The transcript has the real codes and actual dates. Where's My Refund is often delayed in updating. You can access your transcript online if you create an account on the IRS website.

•This! The transcript tells you waaay more than the WMR tool. You can see if there are any holds or reviews on your return too.

•Thanks for this suggestion! I'm gonna try to access my transcript now.

•Tried to create an account online and couldnt verify my identity. So frustrating! Any other ways to check besides calling?

•If you can't create an online account, you can still request a transcript by mail through the IRS website or by filling out Form 4506-T. But that takes a while to arrive, so not great for urgent checks.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MY REFUND SINCE JANUARY 25TH!!!! 😠 These deposit dates mean NOTHING! The IRS is a complete joke. This happens every single year to me. I'm never counting on a refund again.

•Did you have EIC or child tax credit? Those always delay refunds until at least mid-February by law.

QuantumQuasar
•Yeah I claimed EITC but even with that it shouldn't take THIS long. They said February 27th would be my deposit date and here we are in March with nothing! 🤦♂️

One thing to check - did you opt to have your TaxSmart fee taken out of your refund? If so, your money goes to a third-party bank first, they take their cut, then they send it to your bank. That can add 1-2 business days.

Carmen Vega
•Yeah I did have the fees taken out of my refund. That's probably what's happening. Thanks for the reminder!

This tax filing system in this country is such a mess. The IRS knows exactly how much we owe but makes us figure it out ourselves, then takes forever to send refunds, and you can never reach them for help. Ridiculous! 🤡

•Its criminal. In most developed countries, the government just sends you a statement to review. But here the tax prep lobby keeps this broken system going.

•Facts. Its all about $$$ for the tax prep industry. They lobby hard to keep it complicated so we have to use their services.

If your Where's My Refund tool shows March 12th, give it a couple more days before panicking. The bank processing can sometimes add delays. I had a similar experience last year - deposit date was April 15 but didn't actually get the money until April 18th. System is frustrating but usually works eventually.

I was dealing with the exact same issue last week, deposit date but no money. Tried understanding my transcript but it was like reading hieroglyphics! Used taxr.ai and it decoded everything - turns out there was a small review on my account but nothing to worry about. The tool predicted my exact deposit date which was 2 days after the original date. Worth checking out if you're anxious about your refund status.

•These AI tools are getting so good. Did you find it accurate for everything or just the deposit date?

Amina Diallo
•It was spot on for everything! Explained all the transaction codes, told me exactly why there was a small delay (some verification thing), and even explained what each deduction was for. Basically translated the whole IRS language into normal human speak lol. Way better than trying to Google each code individually.

Did you file with direct deposit? Double check that you entered your banking info correctly. One time I transposed two digits in my account number and it caused a huge delay while the IRS sent me a paper check instead.

•Just checked and my banking info is correct. Used the same account as last year and that refund came through fine.

My sister had the same issue with TaxSmart. Her deposit date was February 28th but she didn't get the money until March 3rd. Banks are weird with processing IRS deposits sometimes. I wouldnt worry too much yet.

After dealing with refund delays for years, I finally got fed up and called the IRS using Claimyr (claimyr.com). Speaking to a real agent explained everything - turns out there was a small error on my return that would have delayed my refund for MONTHS if I hadn't called. The agent fixed it on the spot and my refund was in my account 3 days later. Totally worth it to finally talk to a human instead of that awful automated system.

•Really? Every time I try to call I just get a message saying they're too busy and to call back later. How does this service even work?
0 coins
Emma Wilson
•It's pretty simple! They navigate through all the phone menus and wait on hold FOR you. When they finally get through to an agent, they call your phone and connect you. Saves hours of frustration and hang-ups. The IRS agent I spoke with was actually super helpful once I finally got through to a human.

Check your transcript!!! Log into the IRS website and view your transcript. It will show you the exact codes for what's happening with your return. The Where's My Refund tool is notoriously unreliable and doesn't give you the full picture.

•This is the real answer. I wasted weeks checking WMR when my transcript showed a review code the whole time.

•Yes! Transcripts are WAY more accurate than the refund tool. But they're also super confusing if you dont know how to read them. All those codes and dates make my head spin 🥴

•For anyone struggling to understand their transcript, taxr.ai breaks it all down in simple terms. Saved me from a panic attack when I saw all these random codes on mine that turned out to be normal processing steps. https://taxr.ai

Anyone else notice that TaxSmart seems to have more delays than other services? This is my first year using them (switched from H&R Block) and I'm already regretting it.

•I've used TaxSmart for 3 years with no issues. I think it's just the IRS that's slow, not the tax prep software.

AstroAlpha
•The software doesn't matter at all once your return is accepted by the IRS. At that point it's entirely in the government's hands, not TaxSmart or any other company.

What cycle code does your transcript show? That can help predict when deposits actually hit. For example, if you're a weekly cycle (05 at the end of your cycle code), your deposits usually process on Fridays.
0 coins
Carmen Vega
•Not sure about cycle codes - where exactly do I find that on the transcript?
0 coins
Diego Chavez
•Look for a code that looks like 20230905 or something similar (year, week, cycle). The last two digits tell you if you're daily or weekly processing. If it ends in 01-04 you're daily, if it's 05 you're weekly.

Sometimes a refund can be delayed even with a deposit date if: 1. You have past due federal or state debts 2. You owe back child support 3. You have outstanding student loans 4. There's a bank account issue Any of these apply to you?

Carmen Vega
•No, don't have any of those issues. My return was pretty straightforward - just W2 income, standard deduction, nothing unusual.

•I found a solution for this! Used claimyr.com to get through to an IRS agent last month. They navigated all the phone menus and got me connected to a real person who finally resolved my issue from 2022. After months of trying to call myself with no luck, I had an actual conversation with the IRS in less than an hour!
