Anybody with the date of the 26th received their tax refund check in the mail yet⁉️ Been waiting forever and the IRS site just says it was mailed, but nothing in my mailbox yet. Starting to get worried...

Mail delivery times vary by region. The IRS says to allow 5-7 business days for delivery after the mail date, but it can sometimes take up to 2-3 weeks depending on USPS processing in your area. If it's been more than 3 weeks since the mail date, you should contact the IRS.

I had a mail date of April 19th and just got mine yesterday. The USPS is super backed up right now. Give it a few more days before panicking.

That's good to hear someone finally got theirs! Did yours come in a regular envelope or was it obvious it was from the IRS? I'm worried I might miss it in my mail.

It came in a standard government envelope - light beige color with a black/green Treasury seal in the corner. It's pretty recognizable but not super obvious like 'TAX REFUND INSIDE' or anything. Just keep checking your mail daily.

Have you checked your transcript on the IRS website? Sometimes the 'mail date' is just when they process it, not the actual day they hand it to USPS. I used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it showed me exactly what all the codes meant and gave me a more accurate timeline. Saved me a ton of stress when my check was delayed last month.

This happened to me in March. The check never showed up after 3 weeks. I called the IRS using Claimyr.com (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got through to a real person in about 15 minutes. They confirmed my check was lost in the mail and reissued it. Had the new one within 10 days. Worth the fee to avoid waiting on hold for hours.

Did they make you wait another 6 weeks for the reissued check? That's what they told my sister when hers got lost.

No, they put a rush on it since it was their mistake. That's why it's important to actually talk to someone. The automated system just gives you generic timelines.

Check with your local post office too. Sometimes they hold government checks if they're not sure about the delivery address. My neighbor had this happen and his was sitting at the post office for a week.

If you've moved recently or filed with a different address than your previous return, that could cause delays too. The IRS is terrible about forwarding mail even if you have a forwarding address with USPS.

No I've been at the same address for years. Just getting impatient because I need this money for some bills coming up!! 😫
