Am I the only one who thinks its wild that we're all just sitting here at midnight obsessively checking our bank accounts? The IRS has us all trained like pavlovs dogs lmaaoooo πΆπ
Tax refund season is just adult christmas except santa keeps changing when he's coming and sometimes decides you've been naughty for no reason π
I've had Green Dot for years and they almost always deposit between 3-5am EST on the DDD or the day after. Never had it come earlier. Just go to sleep and it'll probably be there in the morning.
do u have the same bank account as last year? if u changed accounts and didnt update with IRS they might be sending it to the wrong place
We have the same account as last year thankfully
I strongly recommend calling the IRS directly. I was in the same situation - app said one thing, reality was different. After hours of trying to get through the normal channels with no luck, I used claimyr.com to get connected to an agent. Found out my refund had been flagged for additional review due to a mismatch that didn't show on the app at all. The agent fixed it right there on the phone and my refund showed up 3 days later. Talking to an actual person made all the difference.
Does this claimyr service actually work? I've tried calling the IRS so many times and just get disconnected.
my sister works for the IRS (not giving tax advice just sharing what she told me) and she said theres a huge backlog right now with processing refunds. even after they mark it as "sent" in their system, theres still processing time before it actually goes out to banks and cards. she said it could be up to 2 weeks from the date on your transcript before it actually hits your account.
That tracks with what I've seen. The IRS is severely understaffed and their computer systems are ancient. I'm surprised they function at all tbh.
FYI - I struggled for weeks to reach anyone at the IRS about my delayed refund (was supposed to go to my emerald card). Finally used claimyr.com and got through to a real person who explained my refund was held up due to verification issues. Got it sorted out in one call and the money was in my account 3 days later. Talking to a live human made all the difference - was totally worth it to avoid the endless hold times.
In my case they had flagged my return because my reported W2 income didn't exactly match what my employer reported (turns out my employer made a mistake). The agent was able to verify my correct income right on the call and release the hold. Your issue might be different but talking to someone is the only way to know for sure.
If it makes you feel better, I'm having the same issue but with Cash App. DDD was 4/12 and still nothing. I think it's an IRS problem, not a bank problem. The system is just overwhelmed right now.
I had issues understanding my transcript this year and used taxr.ai which completely broke down every code and date for me. Turns out I had a review code that was delaying things but it wasn't visible on WMR. The tool explained everything in plain English and gave me a realistic timeline. Seriously, it saved me so much stress trying to decode all that IRS gibberish! https://taxr.ai

β’Just checked spam and nothing there. The only email I got from them was when I first registered on their site months ago.

Ughhh why does the IRS make everything so complicated?? In 2024 they still can't figure out how to efficiently give people THEIR OWN MONEY back. π€¦ββοΈ
