When I had this problem last year taxr.ai saved me so much time and anxiety. It scanned my transcript and explained exactly what was happening with my return in normal human language. Also gave me a timeline estimate that turned out to be spot on. Sometimes the complexity of tax codes is just too much for normal people to figure out.
Not an ad, just sharing what helped me. I spent days trying to decode my transcript with google searches before finding it. If you understand cycle codes and can interpret what 570/971 combos with different dates mean, then you don't need it. But for most of us it's like reading hieroglyphics.
I just tried it after seeing these comments and it was super helpful. Showed me exactly why my refund was delayed (verification issue) and what to expect next. Definitely better than the useless info on the IRS website.
yall are making me jealous. filed 1/29, accepted 1/30, still nothing. called IRS multiple times but cant get through. feel like my return got sent to a black hole somewhere š³ļø
cant access my transcript cus id.me verification is a nightmare. tried 5 times and it keeps failing.
After weeks of not being able to reach anyone at the IRS, I used Claimyr and got a callback in 40 minutes. Found out there was a simple issue with my return they needed to verify. Worth every penny not to wait hours on hold or call 100 times!
I literally just got off the phone with the IRS about this exact situation (after trying for DAYS to get through). My DDD was April 2nd with an offset for student loans. The rep told me the exact same thing - have to wait 5 days before they can even look into it. This bureaucracy is mind numbing.
Anyone else having trouble understanding all the different codes on their transcripts? I'm looking at mine and have no idea what half of this stuff means or how it relates to my offset and refund timing.
Are you claiming any credits like Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit? Those automatically delay processing until at least mid-February due to the PATH Act, even if you filed in January. That might explain the discrepancy in what you're seeing.
Yes I am claiming EIC. But my WMR is showing the DDD of 3/12 so I think I'm past that PATH Act hold period now? Just wondering why TurboTax hasn't caught up.
If you have a DDD, then yes you're past the PATH Act hold. TurboTax just sucks at updating status - they don't actually have real-time access to IRS systems so they're always behind.
You guys need to stop obsessing over these apps and just wait for your money. Checking 10 times a day won't make it come any faster.
I get it, but the stress isn't helping anything. The IRS runs on their own timeline regardless of how much we check.

did u check SBTPG? If u paid ur fees with ur refund, ur $ goes to Santa Barbara Tax Products Group first. Google SBTPG wheres my refund and check there

TurboTax is awful with communication. Had the same issue, but money showed up fine. DDD is from the IRS, not TurboTax, so as long as that date is there you should be good.
