Why Does IRS Transcript Show "Information Not Available" for 2024 While on PATH Hold? No Adjustment Requested

I just checked my transcript at 12:39 and noticed something concerning with my 2024 balance. When I look at Details By Year, it shows "Your Information Is Not Available at This Time" with an INFO notice. There's a specific message stating "If you requested an adjustment to your account your information will not be available until that transaction is complete." Looking at my previous years, I can see 2023, 2022, and 2021 all show $0.00 owed for Income Tax, but this 2024 message has me worried. When I check the "Details By Year" section of my transcript, here's exactly what I'm seeing: Tax Year | You Owe | Income Tax ---|---|--- 2024 | INFO | Your Information Is Not Available at This Time 2023 | $0.00 | 2022 | $0.00 | 2021 | $0.00 | Under the 2024 section, there's this message: "If you requested an adjustment to your account your information will not be available until that transaction is complete." I'm currently on PATH act hold - does this unavailable information message mean I'm going to owe money? I don't remember requesting any adjustments to my account, so I'm confused why it says this. The "Frequently Asked Questions About Balances" section doesn't seem to address this specific situation either. Has anyone else seen this message about account adjustments and information not being available? Should I be concerned that there's an INFO notice instead of a dollar amount for 2024?

The screenshot shows your tax transcript details across multiple years, with 2021-2023 all displaying $0.00 balances, which confirms you're up to date on those tax years. The 2024 entry shows an INFO notice with "Your Information Is Not Available at This Time" message - this is completely normal during PATH Act processing periods. The key detail here is the system message stating "If you requested an adjustment to your account your information will not be available until that transaction is complete." This is standard IRS system behavior when a return is being actively processed, especially for returns affected by the PATH Act. The unavailability message doesn't indicate any debt - it's simply showing that your 2024 return is currently under review. The timestamp of 12:39 indicates this is a recent check of your transcript, and seeing the clear $0.00 amounts for previous years (2021-2023) is actually a positive sign that your account has been in good standing. The INFO notice is a temporary status while the IRS completes their verification process of any credits claimed on your return.

Hey I was in the same boat last week! I started using taxr.ai ($1) to analyze my transcript and it explained everything perfectly. Showed me exactly what was happening with PATH and when to expect movement. Way better than playing detective ourselves lol https://taxr.ai

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

Your 2021-2023 all show zero which is perfect. Your 2024 is just processing - totally normal for this time of year especially with PATH. Nothing to worry about bestie ๐Ÿ’…

Don't stress about it! That "Information Not Available" message is standard IRS language when they're processing returns under PATH. I've been through this multiple times and it always looks scary but it's just their system being extra cautious during the review period. Your transcript showing $0.00 for the previous years is actually a great sign - means you're in good standing with the IRS. The "adjustment" language is just generic text that pops up anytime a return is being actively worked on, not necessarily because you requested anything. Hang tight, should clear up in the next week or two! ๐Ÿคž

I went through this exact same thing last year! That "Information Not Available" message had me panicking for weeks thinking I owed money or did something wrong. Turns out it's just how the IRS system displays returns that are stuck in PATH processing. The fact that your previous years show $0.00 is actually really reassuring - it means your account is clean and this is just a temporary processing status. I know it's frustrating when you're expecting a refund and see that cryptic message, but try not to read too much into it. The IRS transcript system isn't exactly user-friendly and their generic messages can be misleading. You should see movement soon once they finish whatever verification they're doing behind the scenes.

This is so reassuring to hear from someone who went through it! The whole "Information Not Available" thing really does sound scary when you first see it. I keep refreshing my transcript hoping it'll change but I guess I just need to be patient. Thanks for sharing your experience - makes me feel way less anxious about the whole thing ๐Ÿ™

Same thing happened to me last year! That "Information Not Available" message is just the IRS being extra cautious during PATH processing. The system automatically displays that generic "adjustment" language whenever a return is being actively reviewed, even if you didn't request any changes. Your previous years showing $0.00 balances is actually a really good sign - means your account history is clean. I know the waiting is brutal but that INFO status is totally normal for this time of year. Should update to show your actual refund amount once they finish their verification process!

Thanks for the reassurance! It's really helpful hearing from people who've been through this before. I'm definitely learning that the IRS transcript system uses some pretty scary language for what turns out to be routine processing. The waiting is definitely the hardest part but at least now I know this is normal and not something I need to panic about ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm dealing with the exact same situation right now! Been checking my transcript obsessively and seeing that "Information Not Available" message for 2024 while my other years show $0.00. It's such a relief to read everyone's responses here - I was starting to think I'd made some mistake on my return or that the IRS found an issue. The PATH Act processing is definitely nerve-wracking when you're waiting for your refund, but sounds like this is just part of their standard verification process. At least we're all in this together! ๐Ÿ˜…

Totally feel you on the obsessive checking! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I've been refreshing my transcript like every few hours hoping something will change. It's actually kind of comforting to know so many of us are going through the exact same thing right now. That "Information Not Available" message really does sound ominous when you first see it, but after reading all these responses I'm way less worried. Seems like it's just the IRS's confusing way of saying "we're still working on it" during PATH processing. Here's hoping we all see some movement soon! ๐Ÿคž

I see this exact same message on my transcript right now! That "Information Not Available" status with the adjustment language had me worried sick until I found this thread. It's honestly such poor UX design by the IRS - they use the same generic "adjustment" message whether you actually requested something or if they're just doing their standard PATH Act verification. The fact that all your previous years show clean $0.00 balances is definitely a good indicator that this is just routine processing. I've been stalking my transcript daily and it's been showing this same status for over a week now. Really hoping we see some movement soon because this waiting game is exhausting! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Right there with you! ๐Ÿ˜… I've been refreshing my transcript like it's my job at this point. That "Information Not Available" message is definitely poorly worded by the IRS - makes it sound way more alarming than it actually is. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been such a lifesaver though. It's wild how many of us are all seeing the exact same thing right now during PATH processing. At least we know we're not alone in this waiting game! Hopefully we'll all wake up to good news on our transcripts soon ๐Ÿ™

This is such a common concern during PATH processing! That "Information Not Available" message is basically the IRS's way of saying "we're still working on your return" - nothing more, nothing less. The system automatically shows that generic adjustment language whenever a return is in active processing, even though you didn't actually request any adjustments. Your transcript showing $0.00 for 2021-2023 is actually really reassuring - it means your account history is solid and this is just temporary processing status. I know the waiting is brutal when you're expecting your refund, but this INFO notice is completely normal for returns caught up in PATH verification. Should clear up within the next couple weeks once they finish their review! ๐Ÿ’ช

This is exactly what I needed to hear! ๐Ÿ™Œ I've been stressing about this for days thinking something was wrong with my return. It's crazy how the IRS uses such confusing language - "adjustment" makes it sound like there's a problem when really it's just their standard processing message. Thanks for breaking it down so clearly! Definitely feeling more confident now that this is just the normal PATH waiting period and not something I need to worry about.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now and this thread has been such a huge help! ๐Ÿ˜Š I've been checking my transcript multiple times a day and seeing that "Information Not Available" message for 2024 had me convinced something was wrong. But reading everyone's experiences here really put my mind at ease. It's honestly ridiculous how the IRS phrases things - using words like "adjustment" when they really just mean "we're still processing your return." The fact that you can see clean $0.00 balances for your previous years is definitely a good sign that your account is in good standing. I'm trying to be patient but this PATH waiting period is seriously testing my nerves! At least now I know this is totally normal and not something to panic about. Thanks for posting this question - clearly a lot of us needed the reassurance! ๐Ÿ™
