Filed 3/22: Tax Return Still Processing After a Month - No Refund Date, No WMR Updates, Transcript Help Needed

Filed my taxes over a month ago on March 22nd and still showing no updates on WMR. I keep checking my transcripts but I have no idea what I'm looking at. No letters from the IRS either. Starting to get worried since everyone I know already got their refund. Anyone know what I should be looking for? I just checked the IRS website again and this is what I'm seeing: "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available. For more information about processing delays, please see our Refund Frequently Asked Questions" It also shows my filing status as "Single" but doesn't show my expected refund amount anymore. The message says "Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day" but I've been checking for weeks with zero change. I've been using both the IRS website and the IRS2Go mobile app like they suggest, but getting the same message every time. The site mentions "Refund Frequently Asked Questions" but I've read through those and still don't understand why mine is taking so long when my tax situation isn't complicated. Has anyone else been stuck on "still being processed" for this long? Is there anything specific I should be looking for in my transcripts that might give me more information than the WMR tool? Should I try calling the IRS at this point, or just keep waiting?

As a tax professional, I can tell you that no updates after a month could mean several things. Most commonly, your return might be in the processing queue or under manual review. Have you checked your Account Transcript for any Transaction Codes? That's where you'll find the most detailed information about your return status.

how do I know what the codes mean? there's like a bunch of numbers that make no sense to me 😫

The codes can be confusing! Each number represents a different action or status. For example, 150 means your return was filed, 570 is a hold, and 846 is your refund issued.

Hey, I was in the same boat last week! I started using taxr.ai and it literally explained everything in my transcript. It costs $4.99 but saved me hours of googling random codes. The AI told me exactly why my refund was delayed and when to expect it. https://taxr.ai

Does it actually work? These tools usually seem like scams 🤔

100% legit! It analyzes your transcript and explains everything in plain english. Even told me about a hold I didn't know about and how to fix it.

Check your mail carefully. Sometimes they send letters that look like junk mail. I almost threw mine away last year!
