180 Day IRS Review - Anyone else stuck in this audit limbo?
Just got a notice saying my return is under review for up to 180 days. My transcripts show Code 424 and now im freaking out about having to wait 6 whole months. This is ridiculous considering I filed in January! Anyone else dealing with this?

The 180-day review typically happens when the IRS needs to verify certain items on your return. Code 424 indicates an examination indicator has been placed on your account. While they say 180 days, many reviews are completed much sooner. Keep checking your transcript weekly for updates.
