Tips for Eligibility Department Interview? What to Expect?
Hey everyone, I've got an interview coming up with the Eligibility department and I'm feeling a bit nervous. Anyone have any tips or experiences they can share? What kind of questions should I expect? I want to be as prepared as possible!

I found a way to solve long Eligibility department hold times, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxydmwhxE34

I had my interview with them last month. They mostly asked about my work history, income, and why I'm applying for benefits. Make sure you have all your documents ready! Good luck!

ā¢Yeah, they wanted my last 3 pay stubs, ID, and social security card. Oh, and proof of address too. Better to have too much than not enough!

Ugh, I've been trying to get through to the Eligibility department for weeks. The hold times are insane. Anyone know a better way to contact them?

ā¢I found a way! There's this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of waiting. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/rqRJnqEdkoI

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢I was skeptical too, but it really worked for me. Saved my sanity lol. Worth every penny imo.

Just had my interview last week. Here's what you need to know: ⢠Be honest about everything. They cross-check your info. ⢠Have a clear explanation for any gaps in employment. ⢠Know your exact dates of employment for the last 18 months. ⢠Be prepared to discuss your job search efforts. ⢠They might ask about your willingness to accept suitable work. Stay calm and you'll do fine! š

ā¢This is super helpful, thank you so much! I'll definitely review my employment history before the interview.

ā¢Great advice! I'd add: make sure your phone has good reception. My call dropped mid-interview and it was a nightmare to reschedule. š«

ā¢It's frustrating for sure, but let's focus on helping OP prepare for their interview. Negativity won't change the system overnight.

Quick tip: write down all your questions beforehand. It's easy to forget stuff when you're nervous. And don't be afraid to ask for clarification if you don't understand something!

Does anyone know if they're still doing interviews over the phone or have they gone back to in-person? I've got one coming up next month and I'm not sure what to expect.

ā¢As far as I know, they're still doing phone interviews. I had mine two weeks ago and it was over the phone. But maybe double-check with them to be sure?

Hey Natasha! I just went through this process a few months ago. One thing that really helped me was practicing explaining my situation out loud beforehand - it made me way less nervous during the actual call. Also, have a glass of water nearby because talking for 30-45 minutes straight can make your mouth dry! The caseworkers are generally pretty understanding, so try not to stress too much. You've got this! šŖ

ā¢That's such great advice about practicing out loud! I never thought about that but it makes total sense. Thanks for the water tip too - I definitely get dry mouth when I'm nervous. Really appreciate the encouragement! š
