Need to update phone # for DEO Assistance Telephone Meeting by 26th. How to reach someone ASAP?
Hey everyone, I've got an Assistance Telephone Meeting coming up for my unemployment claim. I need to update my phone number before the meeting, which is on the 26th. Anyone know how to get through to someone at the unemployment office? I've been trying to call but no luck so far. Really need to get this sorted out ASAP!

Ugh, good luck with that. I've been trying to get through to them for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone 🙄

•Same here. I swear they must have like 2 people working the phones for the whole state 🤣

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Tried that, no luck. Even set an alarm for 7:55 am and started dialing at 8:00 on the dot. Still nothing 😫

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It actually worked tho! Got through in about 2 hours instead of days of trying.

•How does it work exactly? Do you have to give them your personal info?

•Nah, you just put in the number you want them to call, and they handle the rest. When an agent picks up, they connect you. Pretty simple tbh.

Have you tried updating your info online? Sometimes you can do that stuff without calling.

Man, the whole system is so broken. Why can't they just hire more people to answer the phones? We're already stressed about being unemployed, and then we gotta deal with this bs 🤦♂️

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the unemployment office for months: 1. Call early in the morning, like right when they open. 2. If you can't get through, try calling later in the afternoon when it might be less busy. 3. Be persistent. Sometimes you gotta call multiple days in a row. 4. Have all your info ready when you do get through. They might ask for your claim number, SSN, etc. 5. If all else fails, try contacting your local state representative. They sometimes have connections to help. 6. Check if there's an online portal where you can update your info without calling. 7. Document everything. Keep a log of when you called and what happened. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same boat. 💪

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary depending on where you are.
