Missed claiming June weeks because of quarter change - how to back claim with DEO?
Panicking a bit here - I couldn't claim my last two weeks of June because the system made me reapply for the new quarter starting in July. Now those weeks are just...gone? I've been trying to reach someone at (321)430-4632 but keep getting the 'all operators are busy' message and they won't even offer the callback option anymore. Super frustrating! Does anyone have a different DEO number that actually works? Or is there some way to back claim these weeks through CONNECT without having to talk to a human? I was counting on that money for rent and I'm seriously stressing out.

This exact thing happened to me last quarter!!! The DEO system is designed to SCREW people over during quarter changes. They KNOW exactly what they're doing making those weeks disappear like that. I must have called that number 300 times and never got through. Everyone I know who's been on unemployment has had this problem at some point and half of them never got their money. The system is BROKEN BY DESIGN!!!

•Oh god that's not what I wanted to hear... did you ever figure out a solution? I really need those weeks.

This is a common issue during quarter changes. What you need to do is submit a request for back-dating through your CONNECT account. Log in, go to your dashboard, and look for 'Request to Modify Claim Filing Date.' Fill out that form explaining that you couldn't claim those weeks due to the quarter change reapplication process. Make sure to include the specific weeks you're trying to claim. Be aware though - these requests can take 3-4 weeks to process in the current backlog.

Quarter changes are always the worst with DEO. I have had this happen to me twice in my life. Honestly, the 'Request to Modify Claim Filing Date' form that was mentioned isn't always there - it seems to show up randomly depending on your claim status. If you don't see it, you HAVE to talk to someone at DEO directly. They are literally the only ones who can manually add those weeks back into your CONNECT account. Unfortunately, those phone numbers are nearly impossible to get through on.

•That's what I was afraid of... I need to actually talk to a human. But I've tried calling like 50 times this week with no luck. I might have to physically go to a CareerSource office at this point and see if they can help.

I had the same problem during the April quarter change. After trying the main number for 2 weeks straight with no luck, I found a solution that actually worked. I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a DEO agent. It basically calls for you and holds your place in line, then calls you back when an agent picks up. Here's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj Once I got through to an agent, they were able to manually add the weeks I needed to back claim right into my CONNECT account while I was on the phone. The weeks showed up under my 'Claim Weeks' section within 24 hours. The agent told me back claiming due to quarter changes is one of their most common calls this time of year.

•does this actually work? seems sketchy to use a 3rd party service just to call DEO

I used Claimyr last month when my account got locked and it worked for me too. Weird how DEO forces us to use workarounds just to get basic help. But yeah it's legit.

•Thanks for confirming this is legit! At this point I'm willing to try anything. I just want my weeks back in the system.

•3 WEEKS of calling? Are you kidding me? This is exactly what I'm talking about with how they make the system impossible to navigate. They WANT people to give up.

Just to clarify some misinformation in this thread - the form is called 'Request to Modify Claim' and it's under the 'Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary' section of CONNECT. However, I should note that for quarter change issues specifically, most DEO agents will tell you that speaking with someone directly IS faster than using the form method. If you do manage to get through to DEO, make sure you're clear that this is a quarter change issue where you were required to reapply, not just regular weeks you forgot to claim. Quarter change back-dating is processed differently in their system and has different approval criteria.

•This is super helpful info! I'll try to find that form as a backup plan, but it sounds like getting someone on the phone is still my best bet. I appreciate the detailed explanation.

Hey OP, just checking back - were you able to get through to DEO? If you're still having trouble, another option is to contact your state representative's office. They usually have dedicated staff who can escalate DEO issues. I've seen people get results within days that way when they were stuck for weeks trying to handle it on their own.

•Thanks for checking in! I ended up using Claimyr to get through yesterday. The DEO agent I spoke with was actually super helpful - she said this happens all the time with quarter changes. She added my missing weeks directly into CONNECT while I was on the phone. She said I should be able to claim them within 48 hours. Such a relief!
