DEO pending issue since May - can't reach anyone helpful after countless calls

I'm about to break down here. My DEO claim has had a 'pending issue' flag since May 24th and I'm completely stuck in limbo. Every time I manage to get through on the phone (which is maybe 1 out of 20 attempts), the agent just tells me 'there's a pending issue that needs adjudication' and they literally can't help me beyond that. My CONNECT account shows no details about what the pending issue even is! I've been calling multiple times daily for WEEKS. I've sent emails to my state representative, left messages with supervisors, and tried the chat feature. Nothing. No progress. My savings are completely depleted now, and my landlord is starting to get impatient about June rent. Does anyone have any tips for actually getting to someone who can RESOLVE this mysterious pending issue instead of just acknowledging it exists? I'm desperate and don't know what else to do. This system feels designed to make people give up.

7 WEEKS??? I can't wait that long! Did they eventually tell you what the issue was? I'm trying to figure out if I need to submit additional documentation or something.

The pending issue status usually means there's something DEO needs to verify before they can process your claim. Common reasons include: 1. Employment separation verification (they need to confirm why you left your job) 2. Income verification discrepancies 3. Work search requirement issues 4. Identity verification problems Check your 'Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary' section in CONNECT. Sometimes there's more information there even when the main screen doesn't show details.

Thank you! I checked that section and it mentions something about 'able and available' status but doesn't explain what documentation they need. I've been doing all my work searches (5 per week) and uploading them correctly. This is so confusing.

Same boat my friend. Been waiting since early May with a "pending adjudication" message too. Rent's due and I'm panicking. Florida's unemployment system is a disaster by design.

I finally resolved a similar situation last month after weeks of trying. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 7:30am when lines open 2. If the automated system tries to kick you out, press 0 repeatedly 3. Ask specifically for a "claims specialist" not just any agent 4. Use the magic phrase "I need to speak with someone who can remove a hold on my account" Also, document everything - names of agents, call times, what they told you. This helps when you eventually get someone who can help.

Thank you for the specific tips! I've been calling at random times during the day, so maybe the early morning strategy will work better. I'll try this approach tomorrow morning.

After dealing with DEO for months, I finally found a service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual DEO agent in about 20 minutes after spending weeks trying on my own. They basically call DEO for you and put you in the callback queue, then alert you when it's your turn. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj It was literally the only way I could get through to someone who could actually resolve my pending issue rather than just read me the status I already could see online. Worth considering if you're desperate.

Yes, it worked for me! I was skeptical too. But they don't actually fix your claim - they just get you through to a real DEO agent without you having to spend hours redialing. Then you still need to explain your situation to the agent, but at least you're talking to a human who can help.

THE DEO IS DOING THIS ON PURPOSE!!!! They flag accounts as "pending" to DENY BENEFITS and make people GIVE UP. I worked for the state (not DEO) and everyone knows this is how they keep their numbers down. THE SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED!!!!

While the system certainly has flaws, this isn't entirely accurate. Most pending issues are legitimate verification requirements mandated by federal guidelines. The problem is understaffing and poor communication, not a conspiracy to deny benefits. Providing the right documentation typically resolves these issues.

If your issue is "able and available" as you mentioned in another comment, this usually means they're questioning whether you're able to work or have restrictions that would prevent you from accepting suitable employment. You'll need to answer some questions about your availability for work during your adjudication interview. Be clear that you're able and available to work full-time with no restrictions. If you have any limiting factors (transportation issues, childcare limitations, etc.), be prepared to explain how you'll manage those while working.

That's the frustrating part - I haven't been given any adjudication interview or questionnaire to fill out. It just says pending with no way to provide information. I'm absolutely available for work and actively interviewing, but no way to tell them that!

UPDATE: I took everyone's advice and tried multiple approaches. The early morning calling didn't work (still got disconnected), but I did email that determinations address with my claim ID and a detailed explanation. Also contacted my state senator's office. I finally got a call back today from an adjudicator who explained there was confusion about my last day of work vs. when I filed. They're clearing it now and said payments should process within 48 hours! Thank you all for the help and support during this stressful time.

Fantastic news! That's exactly how these situations typically resolve - a simple misunderstanding that needs clarification. Make sure to keep checking your CONNECT account to verify the payments process correctly.

So glad to hear it worked out! The Florida unemployment system is unnecessarily complicated, but it's great when things finally get resolved.
