DEO not paying FPUC $300 supplement in 2025 - only got regular RA payment

I'm so confused about what's happening with my Florida unemployment. Last Thursday (4/17) I finally got a regular unemployment payment of $417 after weeks of waiting, but there was no sign of the $300 federal supplement that everyone's been talking about. I thought the FPUC program was still active in 2025? I checked my payment history in CONNECT and see I got one payment of $417 on 4/17 but nothing else since my claim was approved in March. Are they sending the $300 separately? Is there a delay? Or did the program end and I missed the announcement? Has anyone else received their regular benefit without the supplement recently?

The FPUC program that provided the extra $300 ended back in late 2024. It was a temporary extension that ran until December. Now we're just getting the regular Florida RA benefit amounts. It's frustrating because Florida's maximum benefit is still only $417 per week, which barely covers anything with today's rent prices.

Oh no! I had no idea it ended! I was counting on that extra money. Do you know if there's any talk about bringing it back? My benefits barely cover half my rent.

They always do this! The news doesn't make it clear when these programs end, and DEO doesn't bother sending notices to claimants. Just suddenly the money stops showing up with ZERO warning.

To clarify what others have said - the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program that provided the extra $300 per week officially ended on December 29, 2024. The Florida DEO is now only paying the regular Reemployment Assistance benefits, which range from $38 to $417 per week depending on your previous earnings.\n\nThere's currently no active legislation to reinstate the supplement, though there are occasionally discussions about it. For now, only count on receiving your regular benefit amount when budgeting.\n\nIf you're struggling financially, you might want to look into other assistance programs like SNAP benefits or rental assistance through your county's emergency services department.

Thank you for explaining. This is really going to hurt financially. Is there any way to appeal for a higher weekly benefit? My determination letter says $417 but that's nowhere near what I was making before.

I spent HOURS trying to get answers about this last month when my payments started coming without the supplement. DEO phone lines are completely jammed - I tried for 3 straight days and couldn't get through. Complete waste of time. 😡

I had the same problem trying to reach DEO about my missing weeks. After multiple failed attempts, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a live agent. They have this service that calls DEO for you and connects you when an agent is available. Saved me from the constant busy signals and disconnects. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. Finally got someone who confirmed the program ended last year.

The DEO website has ALL of this information but they hide it so well no one can find it! You have to click through like 5 different pages to find the program end dates. It's almost like they WANT people to be confused so they don't have to answer questions!

THIS IS WHY I TELL EVERYONE TO FOLLOW THE UNEMPLOYMENT NEWS!!! They don't bother to notify us of ANYTHING important. The FPUC ended right after Christmas which was basically a giant middle finger to everyone struggling. Meanwhile they wonder why people can't find jobs when they pay $12/hour and rent is $2000+???

You're absolutely right. Florida has one of the lowest weekly benefit amounts in the country, but they refuse to raise it. $417 maximum in 2025 is a joke when you consider how much the cost of living has increased.

I just called DEO and after waiting for 2 hours, they confirmed what everyone here said - the extra $300 ended in December. The agent told me there's no way to get a higher weekly amount than what's on my determination letter, even though it's so low. She suggested I check with CareerSource for job search help. I feel so discouraged right now.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. While the regular benefit amount can't be increased beyond your determination, make sure you're claiming all your weeks on time and completing the 5 required work searches per week so you don't miss any payments. Also, check if you qualify for partial benefits if you find part-time work - you can earn up to $69 per week without reducing your benefits.
