DEO missing information deadline today - can't find where to update my claim online

I'm freaking out right now! Just got an email from DEO saying there's "information missing that might keep my claim from being processed" and it needs to be corrected TODAY. I spent THREE HOURS yesterday going through every screen in CONNECT trying to figure out where I'm supposed to update this mysterious missing information. The email doesn't specify what's missing or where to go to fix it! I've tried calling at least 20 times but either get disconnected or told the wait time is more than 2 hours. Has anyone dealt with this before? How am I supposed to fix something when they don't even tell me what's wrong or where to go to fix it? My rent is due next week and I really need this claim to go through!

This happened to me in January. Those emails are super vague and frustrating! The missing info is probably in the 'Fact Finding' section. Log into CONNECT, go to your main dashboard, and look for the 'Determination, Pending Issue and Decision Summary' link. Click that, and if there's anything pending, you should see a link to provide additional information or complete a questionnaire. Sometimes there's also an 'Adjudication' item that needs more info.

Thank you so much! I'll try looking there right now. So frustrating they don't tell you WHERE to go in the email. Just 'your claim has issues' with no directions.

When you get that kind of email, it's usually because there's a fact finding questionnaire that appeared in your CONNECT inbox that you didn't complete yet. Go to the left side menu in CONNECT, click on 'Inbox' and check if there's any message with a link to complete the missing information. It will typically be about employment separation reason, wages verification, or work search activities. Don't panic - even if you miss today's deadline, you can still submit the information, it just might delay your claim a bit.

I found it!!! It was in the inbox hidden under some other messages about work search requirements. They wanted additional info about why I left my last job. Thank you so much, I would have never thought to look there.

DEO emails are THE WORST! they send u this scary message but dont tell u what 2 do lol. i got same email last month, turns out mine was cuz they needed proof of identity again even tho i already did ID.me verification. So check that tab too if u dont see anything in fact finding.

The DEO's communication is just pathetic. My husband got a similar email and it turned out they needed a piece of information that wasn't even mentioned on his original application! These generic emails with vague warnings cause so much unnecessary stress for people already struggling. The system is DESIGNED to be confusing on purpose.

I tried for TWO WEEKS to reach someone at DEO about a similar issue after getting one of those emails. Busy signals, disconnects, and once I was on hold for 3 hours before getting hung up on. Finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to a DEO agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. The agent was able to tell me exactly what was missing and walked me through fixing it on my account.

Is that service legit? I'm always nervous about third party services for unemployment stuff since there are so many scams out there. Did you have any issues with them?

It worked great for me - all they do is basically wait on hold for you and then call you when they get through to an agent. You still talk directly to the DEO agent yourself. Saved me hours of frustration.

Good idea! Just checked but nothing there. I did manage to find the issue in my CONNECT inbox thanks to the other suggestions here. It was a questionnaire about my job separation that I somehow missed.

Glad you found it! For future reference, here are the main places to check for "missing information" with DEO claims: 1. CONNECT Inbox - often has questionnaires 2. Determination, Pending Issue and Decision Summary (check for pending items) 3. Fact Finding section 4. Adjudication section 5. ID verification section if they're requesting additional identity proof Bookmark this message in case it happens again. And make sure you're checking your CONNECT account at least twice a week even if you don't get emails, as sometimes they add requirements without notification.

Thank you SO much for this list. I'm saving this to my notes! This whole system is like a maze with no map. I was able to complete the questionnaire, and it now shows my claim is under review again. Fingers crossed it processes quickly.

I work with unemployment claims every day for my job, and I can tell you that missing information notices usually have a 7-day response window, not just 1 day. So even though the email said "today", you typically have a full week from when the notice was generated. That said, always better to respond ASAP. The most common missing info they request is about: 1. Reason for separation from employer 2. Ability and availability to work 3. Work search activities not properly documented 4. Wages that don't match what the employer reported Did you figure out which one they needed from you?

It was #1 - reason for separation. Apparently they needed more details about why I left my previous job. I thought I had filled that out on the original application, but I guess they wanted additional info. I'm so relieved I found it in time!

The DEO system is DELIBERATELY CONFUSING to discourage people from collecting benefits. Sorry, but it's true. Florida has one of the worst unemployment systems in the country BY DESIGN. They make these vague emails, hide important notices in random sections of the website, and make the phone system practically impossible to navigate. Then they can say "well, we sent you a notice" when they deny your claim, even though the notice was impossible to find. The whole thing is a disgrace.

Just checking back - were you able to submit the missing information? Sometimes even after submitting, the system takes 24-48 hours to update and remove the warning message. And FYI, if your claim goes into adjudication after this, don't panic. That's normal processing and usually takes 3-5 business days (though sometimes longer if they're backlogged).

Yes! I found it and submitted the info. Now my claim status says "Pending Adjudication" - so I guess that's normal based on what you said. Their estimated payment date is showing next Wednesday if all goes well. Thanks again for your help - this forum saved me!
