DEO 'Missing Information' notice keeps delaying my claim - visit to CareerSource saved me!

Hey everyone, just got through the most frustrating week with DEO. I received both an email AND a message in my CONNECT inbox saying my claim payment was delayed due to 'missing information' but OF COURSE they don't specify what's actually missing! Tried calling DEO approximately 47 times over 3 days - either busy signals or disconnected after waiting 40+ minutes.\n\nI couldn't edit anything online either - all fields were greyed out when I tried updating my claim. Finally drove 35 minutes to the CareerSource Florida center in Melbourne yesterday (took time off work which I really couldn't afford).\n\nThe rep there was actually super helpful and explained something RIDICULOUS - apparently these 'missing information' notices are automatically attached to EVERY benefits determination letter, even when nothing is actually missing! She pulled up my account right there and confirmed everything was complete on my claim.\n\nSo if any of you get these scary 'missing info' messages, don't waste days panicking and calling like I did. Just go directly to your local CareerSource office. Posting this to hopefully save someone else the stress I just went through. My payment finally processed this morning!

It's absolutely maddening! Did you ever get it resolved? I'm still paranoid they'll find some other reason to delay my next payment.

This is a classic DEO move. They've been sending these automated 'missing information' notices for years without specifying what's actually missing. It's part of their terrible system design.\n\nOne thing to note - sometimes there IS actually missing information, but the system doesn't tell you what. Common things they look for:\n- Work search activities not properly documented (need 5 per week)\n- Income verification documents\n- Identity verification issues (especially if you haven't completed ID.me)\n- Employment separation details\n\nGlad the CareerSource office helped you! Always keep documentation of every visit and conversation in case DEO tries to claim you didn't respond to their requests.

Thanks for the detailed info! I did complete ID.me verification and my work search activities (exact 5 per week as required). The CareerSource rep actually printed me a confirmation showing everything was properly submitted. Keeping that paper in my records folder now!

The DEO system is DELIBERATELY DESIGNED to be confusing!!!! They WANT people to give up so they don't have to pay benefits!!!!! I've been fighting with them for 3 MONTHS and still haven't received a PENNY!!!! Every time I call it's busy signals or disconnects!!! This is CRIMINAL what they're doing to FL residents!!!!!

I feel your pain. Been there. Still dealing with them myself. The system is broken beyond belief.

I've worked with Florida's unemployment system for several years, and this is absolutely correct advice. Those automated notices are notoriously misleading.\n\nFor anyone dealing with this: CareerSource offices are definitely your best resource. They have direct access to the CONNECT system and can see details that aren't visible in your personal portal. They can also make notes on your account that DEO staff will see.\n\nAnother tip - if you do need to reach DEO by phone (for issues CareerSource can't resolve), I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that helps you get through to DEO agents without the endless busy signals and disconnects. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj\n\nI've recommended it to several clients who had adjudication issues that needed direct DEO contact. Much less frustrating than trying to call directly.

Thank you! Will definitely keep that service in mind if I run into more issues. Right now things seem to be moving, but knowing DEO, I'll probably hit another roadblock soon...

Wait what? CareerSource can actually see your claim details? I've been going back and forth with DEO for weeks and nobody told me this! Is this at any CareerSource location or just specific ones?

All CareerSource Florida locations have access to the CONNECT system, but the level of unemployment expertise varies by location. Larger offices typically have dedicated staff who specialize in unemployment issues. When you go, ask specifically for someone who handles reemployment assistance questions. They can't make determination decisions, but they can see exactly what's happening with your claim and often suggest solutions.

This happened to me too! But I couldn't get to a CareerSource office because I don't have transportation. I just kept claiming my weeks and eventually the payments started coming through about 3 weeks later. I think sometimes their system just flags things randomly and then resolves itself if there's actually nothing wrong.\n\nDid they tell you if this would affect your future payments or was it just a one-time glitch? I'm worried it'll happen again on my claim.

The rep said it should be a one-time issue, but honestly I don't trust anything with CONNECT anymore. Glad your payments eventually came through without having to visit in person! I was too anxious to wait it out - bills coming due and all that stress.

It took exactly 2 business days after my CareerSource visit. The rep did something in the system while I was there - she called it

Thanks for sharing this! I've been dealing with adjudication for what feels like forever, might try heading to CareerSource instead of waiting on hold for another 2 hours tomorrow.

I had a similar experience but with my identity verification. Got locked out after ID.me and couldn't get anyone on the phone. Then I remembered my cousin works at the state and she told me that the Tallahassee CareerSource office is actually in the same building as some DEO staff! If you live near Tallahassee, that location might be able to help even faster with complex issues since they can sometimes walk paperwork directly to DEO staff.

Wait really? That's good to know! Are there any other CareerSource offices that have direct DEO connections like that? I'm in Tampa area.

This is super helpful, thank you for sharing! I'm dealing with the exact same "missing information" notice right now and was starting to panic. I've been trying to call DEO for the past two days with no luck - just endless busy signals. I had no idea CareerSource could actually access the CONNECT system and help with this stuff! There's one about 20 minutes from me, so I'm definitely going to try that tomorrow instead of wasting more time on hold. Did the CareerSource rep give you any kind of documentation or reference number when they fixed it? I want to make sure I have proof that everything was resolved in case DEO tries to pull this again later.
