DEO appeal won 6 weeks ago but case still unfinished - waited 6 hours on hold then disconnected

I seriously don't know what else to do at this point. I won my DEO appeal over a month and a half ago, and Tuesday (10/8/2025) was supposed to be the FINAL deadline for them to complete everything on my case. I tried calling today and stayed on hold for SIX HOURS only to get hung up on!!! This isn't even the first time - I've been hung up on multiple times after hours on hold. I'm at my wit's end. The adjudicator told me everything would be processed by the deadline, but my CONNECT account still shows no updates and no payments have hit my account. Does anyone know who I can contact that will actually help? Is there a supervisor number or email? Or do I need to contact my state rep? I'm in Florida and getting desperate. Any advice would be appreciated.

That's horrible! I had a similar situation last month. After winning my appeal, it took another 8 weeks for payments to actually process. What helped me was emailing DEO.UC.Appeals@deo.myflorida.com with my claimant ID, last 4 of SSN, and a brief explanation. Put "URGENT: Appeal Decision Implementation" in the subject line. I also called my state representative's office, and they have staff who specialize in unemployment issues. Within 3 days of contacting my rep, someone from DEO called me to expedite things.

Thank you for this! Did you have to provide any specific documentation when you emailed? And did you just Google your state rep or is there a specific website to find them?

the connect system is trash i swear. they do this on purpose to make people give up. i won my appeal too and they took 9 weeks to pay me even tho they're supposed to do it in 3 weeks according to their own rules.

9 weeks?! That's insane. I'm already at 6 weeks post-appeal and going crazy. Did you just keep calling or did something specific finally get them to process it?

After you win an appeal, your case has to go through what's called the "implementation phase" where they actually process the appeal decision. This can take 3-8 weeks according to DEO guidelines, though they're supposed to prioritize it. The problem is that your file needs to be assigned to an adjudicator who specifically handles post-appeal implementation, and they're severely understaffed. You should definitely try these steps: 1. Email RA.BPC@deo.myflorida.com with your claimant ID, the appeal case number, and date of the appeal decision. Title it "URGENT: Appeal Implementation Past Deadline" 2. Contact your state representative AND state senator (find them at www.myfloridahouse.gov) 3. File a complaint with the DEO Inspector General at DEO.OIG@deo.myflorida.com Just be prepared that even with all this it might take another 1-2 weeks to process. The system is incredibly backlogged right now.

Thank you so much for this detailed information! I didn't know there was a separate "implementation phase" - that explains a lot. I'll email all those addresses today and contact my representatives. Really appreciate the advice!

Your not alone, this is happening to loads of people lately. Ive seen at least 4 posts about this same issue this week. The DEO is definitely getting worse not better!!

Yes, there's been a significant increase in implementation delays since they switched to the new CONNECT update in March 2025. The system is supposed to be more efficient, but clearly they're still working out major issues.

Have you tried using Claimyr? After spending weeks trying to get through to DEO and getting disconnected multiple times like you, I finally used their service and got through to a real person in about 20 minutes. It basically keeps redialing for you until it gets through, then calls you back when it has a rep on the line. The DEO agent I spoke with was able to see that my appeal was stuck in a queue and manually moved it forward. Saved me weeks of waiting. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

I've never heard of this before! I'm willing to try anything at this point. Did you actually reach someone who could help? My biggest fear is getting through just to have them tell me they can't do anything.

Yes, I got through to someone in the appeals department who could actually help! Just make sure when the automated system asks why you're calling, you say "speak to an agent about appeal status" - that routes you to people who can actually access the implementation queue. Regular agents can't help with appeal implementation.

@profile7 I used it twice and it worked both times. First time the agent wasn't helpful, second time I got someone who fixed my issue. Better odds than trying to get through on your own IMO.

Hey there - I'm actually going through the exact same thing right now, except I'm at 5 weeks post-appeal decision. My adjudicator told me there's a huge backlog of appeal implementations because they had to shift staff to handle the surge in new claims from the hurricane damage in South Florida. They're prioritizing by date of appeal decision, so if yours was 6 weeks ago, you should hopefully be getting close. When you call, are you selecting option 2, then 2, then 1 on the phone menu? That's supposed to get you to the appeals department directly.

I've been hitting option 2, then 3 (for payment issues), then 2! I'll try your sequence tomorrow. Makes sense about the hurricane backlog, but it's still so frustrating. I'll update here if I get through with the new menu options.

call ur state rep!!!!!!! seriouslyyy, i was stuck in the same situation for 2 MONTHS after winning my appeal and nothing was happening. i called my rep's office and had money in my account 4 days later. they have direct contacts at DEO who can push things through. google florida house representatives and put in ur address to find yours.

That's amazing! I'm definitely contacting my rep tomorrow. Was there anything specific you had to provide them? Did they require any documentation from your case?

just ur claimant ID, last 4 of social, full name, and the date of ur appeal decision. they handled everything else. they've seen this problem a million times so they know exactly what to do.

UPDATE: I tried Claimyr this morning and actually got through to someone! The agent confirmed my appeal implementation was stuck in the queue, and she escalated it to her supervisor. She said I should see movement within 72 hours. I'm not getting my hopes too high, but at least I finally talked to a real person who acknowledged the issue! For anyone else in this situation, I used option 2-2-1 on the phone menu as suggested above, and that did route me to the appeals department. Will update again when/if I see any changes to my account.

Great news! Make sure you check your CONNECT account daily, and specifically look under the "Determination, Pending Issues and Decision" section. That's where you'll see status updates first. Also keep an eye on your Way2Go card if that's how you receive payments.

One more tip: if you don't see movement in 72 hours as promised, call back and ask specifically for a "BWI ticket number" for your escalation. This is an internal tracking number they use, and having this number will help if you need to follow up again. Every time they say they're escalating something, you should get one of these ticket numbers.

Thank you! I didn't know to ask for this. I'll definitely call back if I don't see changes in 72 hours and request the BWI ticket number.

FINAL UPDATE: It worked!!! After 6 weeks of nothing happening, I finally got all my back pay deposited yesterday! For anyone else stuck in post-appeal limbo, here's what finally worked for me: 1) Used Claimyr to get through to DEO, 2) Spoke with an appeals department agent who escalated my case, 3) Contacted my state rep who also pushed on my behalf. Three days later, everything was processed and paid. Thanks to everyone who helped with advice!
