CONNECT password reset link not working - stuck in DEO account lockout loop
So frustrated with the DEO website right now! I've been trying to reset my password for my CONNECT account since Tuesday and I'm getting nowhere. Every time I click the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page, it takes me to a reset page, I enter my claimant ID and SSN, but after clicking submit, the page just refreshes without sending me any reset email. I've tried on different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and even Internet Explorer!), cleared my cache, and still nothing. I need to claim my weeks by Friday or I'll miss this payment cycle. Has anyone else had this password reset issue recently? Any workarounds that actually WORK? I've called the regular DEO number at least 15 times but it just disconnects me after the automated message.

OMG YES!!! the exact same thing happened to me last month!! i was locked out for almost 2 weeks!!! dont waste ur time with the regular number, they NEVER answer. what finally worked for me was emailing RA.BPC@deo.myflorida.com with my claimant ID number (don't include your full SSN in the email!) and explaining the situation. put "URGENT PASSWORD RESET NEEDED" in the subject line. they got back to me in about 3 days and manually reset it. but dont wait, email RIGHT NOW because u dont wanna miss claiming!!

•Thank you so much for the email address! I'll try that right now. Did they just email you a temporary password or did they call you? 3 days is cutting it close to my Friday deadline but better than nothing I guess...

The password reset functionality on CONNECT has been experiencing technical issues since they did the system update on April 3, 2025. There are a few alternative methods you can try: 1. Call the technical support line directly at 833-352-7759 (they're separate from the regular DEO line and usually answer) 2. Visit your local CareerSource office in person with your ID - they can help reset your CONNECT account on the spot 3. Use the Contact Us form on the DEO website and select "Technical Account Issue" as the reason I work with claimants regularly and the CareerSource option is fastest if you can make it there in person. Otherwise, the technical support line is your best bet.

Why are yall still using that broken CONNECT system?? Its been a disaster since day 1!! My cousin works at DEO (not in claims dept) and even THEY hate using it. If u need 2 talk to a real person at DEO, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) last month when my account got locked after ID.me verification. They got me through to an agent in about 20 mins when I had been trying for DAYS with no luck. They have a demo video so u can see how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent fixed my password issue right away once I actually got someone on the phone.

•I've heard about Claimyr but wasn't sure if it actually worked. Was it complicated to use? I might need to try it next time because these constant system issues are ridiculous.

Have u tried using a different device entirely? The CONNECT system doesnt work on my phone at ALL but works ok on my laptop. Also make sure ur not using a VPN, the system blocks those now for some reason. Just some ideas that might help!!!

•I've tried both my laptop and desktop computer, but not my phone. I'll give that a shot! And no VPN here, but that's good to know for future reference. Thanks for the suggestions.

This is EXACTLY why I keep telling everyone to write down their CONNECT password somewhere safe!! The DEO system is designed to PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING BENEFITS by making everything as difficult as possible!! I got locked out for A MONTH last year and missed 4 weeks of payments that they NEVER PAID ME BACK FOR!!! The whole system is a SCAM to save Florida money by making it impossible to actually get your benefits!!!

•While the system definitely has significant technical problems, it's not actually designed to prevent benefit payments. The CONNECT system was implemented in 2013 and has had numerous technical issues since then. The good news is that if you do miss claiming weeks due to technical problems, you can request backpayment by submitting Form DEO-RC01 (Request for Reconsideration) once you regain access. This must be done within 90 days.

•I hadn't thought of trying in the middle of the night! That's a good idea, thanks. I'll set an alarm and give it a shot tonight.

I'd recommend contacting your local state representative's office as well. My CONNECT account was locked for 3 weeks, and nothing worked until I reached out to my state rep. Their office has dedicated contacts at DEO who can escalate these issues. I had my password reset within 48 hours after their office got involved. This is especially important if you're about to miss your claiming deadline. Make sure to provide them with your claimant ID number, the date you first experienced the issue, and documentation of your attempts to resolve it (screenshots of error messages, dates you called DEO, etc.).

•this is actually really good advice!! my friend did this when her benefits got stuck in adjudication for like 2 months and suddenly everything got fixed in like a week after being stuck forever!!

UPDATE: I tried the CareerSource office suggestion from @profile2 and it worked! I went to the one on North Monroe Street this morning, showed my ID, and they were able to reset my password on the spot. The whole thing took about 30 minutes including wait time. Now I can claim my weeks before the deadline. Thank you all for the suggestions!

•That's great news! I'm glad it worked out. For future reference, I recommend changing your security questions as well - sometimes password issues recur because of problems with the security question database. And be sure to write down your new password somewhere secure.

So glad you got it resolved @profile1! The CareerSource offices are definitely underutilized for CONNECT issues. For anyone else reading this thread, I'd also recommend documenting everything when you have these technical problems - take screenshots of error messages, note the dates and times you tried to access the system, and keep records of any phone calls or emails. This documentation can be really helpful if you need to request backpayment later or escalate the issue. The DEO system has been having more frequent outages lately, so it's good to have multiple backup plans ready.

•This is such valuable advice about documentation! I wish I had known this when I first started having issues with my account. I'm definitely going to start keeping a log of any problems from now on. It's frustrating that we have to be so prepared for system failures, but clearly it's necessary with CONNECT. Thanks for sharing this tip - it could save people a lot of headaches down the road!

I'm new to this community but unfortunately not new to CONNECT issues! I've been dealing with similar password reset problems for the past few weeks. What's really helped me is keeping a bookmark to the direct password reset page (connect.myflorida.com/Claimant/Core/Login.ASPX) instead of going through the main login page - sometimes the "Forgot Password" link on the main page doesn't work properly but the direct URL does. Also, if you're still having trouble, try clearing ALL your browser data (not just cache) including cookies and saved passwords. The CONNECT system seems very sensitive to stored login data. I had to do this three times before it finally let me reset my password successfully. Hope this helps someone avoid the frustration I went through!

•Welcome to the community @Alexander Evans! That direct URL tip is brilliant - I never thought to bookmark the password reset page directly. I'm definitely going to save that link for future reference. The clearing ALL browser data suggestion makes sense too since CONNECT seems to have issues with cached login information. It's really helpful to have newcomers share fresh perspectives on these ongoing technical problems. Thanks for taking the time to share what worked for you!

As someone who just joined this community after dealing with my own CONNECT nightmares, I wanted to share another potential solution that worked for me last week. If the password reset email isn't coming through, check your spam/junk folder first (I know, obvious, but sometimes we forget!). But more importantly, I discovered that CONNECT sends emails from "noreply@connect.myflorida.com" and many email providers automatically block or filter these. I had to manually add this address to my email's safe sender list, then request the password reset again. The email came through within 10 minutes after that! Also, make sure you're using the email address that's EXACTLY as it appears in your CONNECT profile - even an extra space or different capitalization can cause the system to not recognize it. It's ridiculous how finicky this system is, but hopefully this helps someone avoid the runaround with phone calls and office visits!
