CONNECT login nightmare - email verified but 'no username found' error blocking my DEO claims
I'm at my wits' end with the DEO CONNECT system! I went through the whole email verification process to reset my password - entered my email, got the verification code, entered it... and then it says 'no username found for this account'?! What username?? I've NEVER had to use a username before with my DEO account, just my SSN and PIN. Now I'm completely locked out and about to miss filing my claim weeks. I've tried calling but can't get through to anyone who can help. Has anyone dealt with this bizarre username error after email verification? What did you do to fix it? I'm so frustrated and scared I'll lose my benefits because of their glitchy system.

This exact thing happened to me last month! The problem is that the system now REQUIRES you to have a username, even though you didn't need one before. When they updated CONNECT in early 2025, they started requiring usernames for everyone. You need to call the technical support line at 833-FL-APPLY and specifically ask for the 'username creation department' - they're the only ones who can fix this. It's a known glitch that happens when your account was created before the system update.

•Thank you!! I've been calling that number for 3 days and it just disconnects me after 20 minutes on hold. Is there any specific time of day that worked better for you? I'm desperate!

ive had this happen twice now... the secret is to use your email address AS the username. they never tell u this anywhere!! try putting your full email in the username field and see if that works. thats what fixed it for me after being locked out for 2 weeks 👍

•I tried using my email as the username but it still gave me the same error. Maybe it works for some accounts but not others? This is so confusing!

The DEO's technical support is absolutely useless with this issue! I spent THREE WEEKS trying to get this fixed last month. What finally worked for me was going IN PERSON to a CareerSource Florida office. Bring your ID, social security card, and any DEO correspondence you have. The CareerSource staff can't directly fix it, but they have a direct line to the DEO tech department and can submit an expedited ticket. My account was fixed within 48 hours after that. Don't waste time with the regular phone numbers!

•THANK YOU!!! This worked for me too! I went to the CareerSource office in Tampa yesterday and they helped me submit a ticket. Just got an email this morning that my account is fixed and I was able to create a username and login finally. Wish I'd known this two weeks ago!

After trying for weeks to get through to DEO about this same issue, I finally used Claimyr to reach an actual agent. It's a service that calls DEO for you and gets you connected with a real person! It saved me hours of redial hell. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent I spoke with said this username error is happening because our accounts are stuck in a weird transition state after the system update. They had to manually convert my account to the new format, create a temporary username, and then I could log in and change it. Took about 10 minutes once I actually got to speak with someone.

•does this actually work?? seems fishy that you have to pay someone just to talk to DEO. shouldn't the government be accessible without paying extra??

THIS IS 100% A KNOWN BUG in the DEO system!!! I talked to a supervisor last week who FINALLY admitted they have a MAJOR GLITCH with accounts created before January 2025. The system is SUPPOSED to automatically create a username for you based on your email, but for older accounts it's failing to link properly during the verification process. The ONLY FIX is to have them manually reset your account on their end. DO NOT keep trying the online reset - it will eventually lock you out for SECURITY REASONS and then you'll be REALLY stuck!!!!

•Oh no! I've already tried resetting it about 15 times! How do I get to a supervisor? The regular phone line just disconnects me every time.

Just an update on this - DEO has now published an official workaround for this issue on their website. Go to FloridaJobs.org and look for the "CONNECT Username Recovery" form under the claimant section. You'll need to provide your name, the last 4 of your SSN, your claim ID number (if you have it), and your email address. They're supposed to send a special recovery link within 48 hours that bypasses the regular login process and lets you create a username. I haven't tried it myself since I already got mine fixed, but might be worth trying before spending hours on the phone.

my cousin works 4 DEO (don't tell anyone lol) and she says they messed up the whole system with the last update. theres like thousands of ppl with this same problem right now. they're working on a fix but it might take till next month. if u need money now u should prolly try 1 of those methods other ppl mentioned like career source or that calling service.

UPDATE: I finally got this resolved! For anyone else having this issue, here's what worked: I used the Claimyr service that someone mentioned above to get through to an actual person at DEO. The agent explained that my account was created during the pandemic and got stuck in the system update transition. They manually added a username to my account and sent a completely new password reset link to my email. I was able to claim my weeks that were pending and even got backpay for the ones I missed while locked out! Thank you to everyone who offered advice - this community is amazing!

•Glad you got it fixed! Did they say if they're working on an actual fix so this doesn't keep happening to people?
