UI Certification Confusion: How to Report 40hr Paid Assessment/Stipend?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my UI benefits certification. I just started this 40-hour assessment thing that's paid through a stipend by a government agency. The thing is, I'm not sure how to report this when I'm certifying for UI. The agency told me it's not technically considered work since it's an assessment and they're paying via stipend, but I'm worried about reporting it wrong to UI. Has anyone dealt with something similar? How did you handle reporting stipends or assessments on your UI certification?

Ugh, the certification questions are always so confusing! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø I had a similar situation with a training program. Here's what I did: • Called UI and explained the situation • They told me to report it as training/education • I made sure to note the stipend amount in the comments section • Kept all documentation just in case Hope this helps! Good luck navigating the bureaucracy maze šŸ€šŸ§€

Thanks for the advice! Did you have any issues after reporting it that way?

Nope, no issues! Just make sure you're super clear in the comments section. Better to over-explain than under-explain with these folks.

This is solid advice. I've learned the hard way that documentation is key when dealing with UI. CYA all day everyday šŸ“„šŸ“„šŸ“„

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at UI! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way faster than trying to get through on your own!

bruh just dont report it 🤫 UI will never know lmao

Terrible advice. Don't risk your benefits over this. UI fraud is no joke šŸš«šŸ™…ā€ā™‚ļø

I swear the UI system is designed to be as confusing as possible šŸ¤” Anyone else feel like they're playing 4D chess every time they have to certify?

For real! It's like they're trying to trick us into making mistakes. Stay vigilant out there, fellow UI warriors āš”ļø

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember's office? They can sometimes help cut through the red tape and get answers from UI faster.

Ive been on UI for 6 months now and let me tell you, its a whole job just managing this stuff. My advice? Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every weird stipend or gig. Cover your butt, because UI sure as heck won't do it for you.

That's good advice, thanks! Do you use any specific system to keep track of everything?

I use a combo of Google Sheets and a physical folder. Overkill? Maybe. But it's saved my bacon more than once!

wait, you guys are getting paid for assessments? šŸ‘€ where do i sign up for that?

It's through a government vocational program. Check with your local Department of Rehabilitation, they might have similar opportunities!

Honestly, at this point I'm convinced the UI system is held together with duct tape and prayers. Good luck OP, you're gonna need it šŸ™
