EDD technical support phone number - can't find working number anywhere
I've been searching everywhere for an EDD technical support phone number to fix issues with my online account. The main unemployment line just transfers me around and nobody can help with website problems. My account is locked and I can't certify for benefits. Does anyone have a direct technical support phone number for EDD system issues?

There's no separate technical support line anymore. Everything goes through the main 800-300-5616 number. You have to press 1-wait-1-1-*** to get to someone who can unlock accounts.

•That's what I was afraid of. I've been calling that number for days and can't get through.

•The wait times are brutal. I called 67 times yesterday just to get on hold, then got disconnected after 2 hours.

Same boat here. My account got locked after I tried to reset my password too many times. Been trying to reach someone for a week to unlock it.

•Account lockouts are the worst because you can't do anything online until they fix it manually. No self-service option.

•Exactly! And meanwhile I'm missing certification deadlines because I can't log in.

I was in the exact same situation last month. After 3 weeks of calling manually, I ended up using Claimyr to get through. Got connected to someone in 22 minutes who unlocked my account immediately.

•What's Claimyr? Is that some kind of calling service?

Alina Rosenthal
•Yeah, it's an auto-dialer that calls EDD for you and forwards the call when they get an agent. Check out claimyr.com - saved me weeks of frustration.

•I've heard mixed things about those services. Did they actually connect you to the right department for technical issues?

Alina Rosenthal
•Yes, they connected me to a regular EDD agent who handled the account unlock. Same people you'd reach calling manually, just without the 50+ redial attempts.

The technical issues are the most frustrating because you literally cannot do anything until they're fixed. I've been locked out for 2 weeks now.

•Two weeks?! That's insane. Are you still getting paid or is everything on hold?

•Everything's on hold. Can't certify, can't check payment status, nothing. It's a nightmare.

Pro tip: when you do get through, make sure they completely unlock your account AND reset your password attempts counter. Otherwise it might lock again.

•Good to know. How many password attempts trigger the lockout?

Mohammad Khaled
•I think it's 3 failed attempts and you're locked for 24 hours. But if you keep trying, it becomes permanent until they manually unlock it.

The worst part is there's no email or chat support for technical issues. Phone only, and good luck getting through during business hours.

•Right? It's 2024 and they still don't have basic online support tickets for website problems.

•Don't even bother calling between 12pm-1:30pm. The entire call center takes lunch and nobody answers.

I finally got through after calling 89 times on Wednesday afternoon. The agent unlocked my account in about 30 seconds. All that hassle for a 30-second fix.

•89 times?! How long did that take you?

•Started at 8am, got through around 3pm. Lost count of how many hours I spent redialing.

•This is exactly why I'm considering that Claimyr thing. My time is worth more than spending entire days redialing.

Has anyone tried calling first thing in the morning? I heard 8am is the best time but I can never get through.

•I start calling at 7:55am every day. Sometimes I get through by 9am, sometimes never. It's completely random.

•Monday mornings are impossible. I've had better luck Wednesday/Thursday afternoons.

The menu navigation is 1-wait about 70 seconds-1-1-***. Don't press the stars too fast or it won't register properly.

•Thanks for the timing tip. I was probably pressing too fast.

•Also both 800-300-5616 and 833-978-2511 go to the same call center, so don't waste time trying different numbers.

Update: I used Claimyr yesterday and got connected in 18 minutes. The agent not only unlocked my account but also helped me certify for the two weeks I missed. Worth every penny.

•That's it, I'm trying Claimyr today. I can't afford to miss another certification week.

•How much did it cost? I'm desperate but also broke.

•I think it was around $20. Considering I was about to lose weeks of benefits, it was a no-brainer for me.

For anyone still calling manually, avoid calling after 4pm. They seem to stop taking new calls even though they're officially open until 5pm.

•I noticed this too! I can get through to hold earlier in the day but never after 4pm.

Finnegan Gunn
•Probably because they want to clear the hold queue before closing. Makes sense but they should advertise the real hours.

Just want to warn everyone that even when you get on hold, there's about a 40% chance the call will drop. Happened to me 3 times last week after waiting 1.5+ hours each time.

•This is why I'm so frustrated. I've gotten on hold 5 times and every single call dropped.

Alina Rosenthal
•This is another reason Claimyr worked well for me. If the call drops, they just redial automatically until they get an agent.

•That's actually genius. Wish I'd known about that service when I was dealing with my account lockout.

The account lockout issue seems to happen a lot when people use password managers or auto-fill. Better to type passwords manually for EDD.

Jasmine Hernandez
•That might be what happened to me. I let Chrome auto-fill and it might have used an old password.

•Yeah, their system is super finicky. I always clear my browser cache before logging in now.

Success story: Finally got my account unlocked today using Claimyr. Took 31 minutes start to finish. The agent was super helpful and even walked me through updating my direct deposit info. Here's their demo video if anyone wants to see how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10

•That's it, I'm done with manual calling. Ordering a callback right now.

•Same here. I've wasted too many days on this already.

•Smart choice. I wish I'd found that service months ago when I was dealing with my ID verification issues.

•Thanks for sharing that video link! I just watched it and it looks legit. I've been stuck in this endless calling loop for over a week now and I'm missing certification deadlines. Going to try Claimyr tomorrow morning.

•Just wanted to update everyone - I used Claimyr this morning after reading all these comments and got connected to an EDD agent in 27 minutes! My account is finally unlocked and I was able to certify for the past two weeks. Felix, thanks for sharing that demo video - it really helped me understand how the service works. For anyone still on the fence, it's definitely worth the cost versus spending days calling manually.

For technical issues specifically, make sure to tell the agent exactly what error messages you're seeing. They have different procedures for different types of lockouts.

Savannah Glover
•Good point. Screenshot any error messages before calling so you can read them exactly.

•Mine just says 'Account temporarily locked' with no other details.

•That's the standard password lockout. Should be a quick fix once you get through to someone.

•I had the same generic "Account temporarily locked" message when my account got locked three weeks ago. After finally getting through to an agent (took me 2 days of calling), they told me it was triggered by multiple failed login attempts from different browsers. They unlocked it in about 2 minutes and advised me to always use the same browser and clear cookies between sessions. The agent also mentioned that sometimes browser extensions can interfere with their login system, so try using incognito mode if you keep having issues.

I've been dealing with this exact same issue for the past 10 days! My account got locked after I accidentally used an old password a few times, and I've been calling the 800-300-5616 number constantly with no luck. Reading through all these comments, it sounds like Claimyr might be my best bet at this point. Has anyone had any luck with the early morning calling strategy, or is the auto-dialer service really the only reliable way to get through? I'm getting desperate since I'm already behind on my certifications.
