EDD eligibility after quitting temp job due to workplace harassment?
I've been working through a temp agency for about 6 weeks now, and the work environment has become borderline hostile. My coworkers refuse to properly train me, make comments like "you're not going to last here anyway," and actively avoid helping me when I need assistance with assignments. I've documented several incidents and reported them to my temp agency supervisor twice now, but nothing's changed. At this point, I'm considering just quitting, but I'm worried about my financial situation. Would I qualify for unemployment benefits if I leave this position? Has anyone successfully claimed EDD benefits after leaving a toxic temp job? I'm in California if that matters for eligibility rules.

just tough it out man... EDD will say u quit voluntarily and deny u. temp jobs suck but unemployment is worse trust me

•YES! Document EVERYTHING!! Ask for reassignment in writing (email) and keep copies. I went through similiar situation last yr and won my case but only b/c I had everything documented. The burden of proof is 100% on you if EDD investigates.

I left a job last year bcuz my boss was a total jerk!! Screaming at everybody, making fun of ppl, etc. EDD denied me at first saying I quit w/o good cause. I appealed and gathered evidence from coworkers and even had texts showing I complained to HR. Won my appeal and got all backpay!!! The key is EVIDENCE - can any coworkers back you up on the hostile environment??

IMPORTANT: If you decide to quit, make sure your FINAL REASON stated to the employer and EDD is the hostile work environment, not something else like "found another job" or "personal reasons." My sister made this mistake and had a nightmare trying to appeal later. Whatever reason you give when you quit is what EDD will use to determine your claim!!!
