EDD disqualified my unemployment claim without explanation - can't reach anyone for help!
My unemployment claim got disqualified out of nowhere and I have no idea why. I've been trying to figure it out online and called them like a million times but can't get through to anyone. The website is totally useless. Has anyone else dealt with this? What did you do to get it sorted out?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! I've been calling non-stop for weeks and can't get through. The system is completely broken 😡

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's like they don't even pick up the phones anymore.

Same here. I set my alarm for 7:55 am every day last week and still couldn't get through. This is ridiculous!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but it actually worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours.

How does it work exactly? Do you have to keep your phone line open the whole time?

Nope, that's the best part. It calls you when it gets an agent. You can go about your day while it waits on hold for you.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down dates, times, and details of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account for any notices or requests for additional information. Sometimes they disqualify claims if they're missing info. 3. If you can't get through by phone, try emailing them. It might take a while, but at least you'll have a paper trail. 4. Contact your local state representative or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 5. If all else fails, file an appeal. You have the right to appeal any disqualification. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing. Good luck!

This is great advice. I'd add that joining a Facebook group for unemployment issues in your state can be really helpful too. Lots of people sharing tips and updates.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they thought I had unreported income because my previous employer messed up some paperwork. Took forever to sort out, but I finally got it fixed. Hang in there!

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare. How long did it take you to get it resolved?

It took about 2 months of back and forth. But I finally got all my backpay. Don't give up!

The EDD is a joke. They're probably just disqualifying people at random to save money. We need to organize and demand better treatment! Who's with me? ✊

Calm down, conspiracy theorist. They're just understaffed and overwhelmed.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other department numbers. Sometimes you can get transferred to the right person that way.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. The stress of unemployment is bad enough without having to fight the system too. Sending you good vibes and hope you get it sorted soon! 💖
