EDD certification page blank - nothing to certify after expected date
I'm super confused about my UI certification schedule right now. I was supposed to certify this weekend (it's been 2 weeks since my last certification for the week ending on the 23rd), but when I logged into UI Online, there's literally nothing there to certify! The certification section is completely empty. No error message, no pending weeks, just... nothing. My claim is still active according to my claim summary, and I haven't received any notices. Has the certification schedule changed? Is the system glitching? Anyone else experiencing this weird issue?

Did you check to make sure you're not in the 'View Payment Activity' section instead of the 'Certify for Benefits' section? The UI Online navigation can be a bit confusing. Also, sometimes after maintenance they shuffle things around on the weekend.

•Yes, I double-checked. I definitely clicked on the 'Certify for Benefits' section. It shows my certification history but nothing new to certify. Getting worried now...

•Just checked my inbox - nothing there either! No notifications, no messages about schedule changes. It's so frustrating!

This happened to me last month. There are a few possibilities: 1. You've exhausted your benefit year or reached your maximum benefit amount 2. There was an eligibility issue flagged on your account 3. EDD adjusted your certification schedule 4. There's a technical glitch Check your claim summary to see if there's any indication your benefit year ended or if you've reached your maximum benefit amount. Also, look at your last payment to see if it says "Final Payment" anywhere. If nothing stands out, you should contact EDD directly. Their system won't always notify you when there's an issue with your claim.

•Thanks for the detailed response. My claim summary still shows an active claim with a balance remaining and no indication of "Final Payment." I guess I need to call them, but that's always such a nightmare!

EDD IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST WITH COMMUNICATION!!! They constantly change things or put random holds on claims without telling anyone!! I had the EXACT same thing happen and it was because they flagged my account for an eligibility interview but NEVER TOLD ME. Wasted 3 weeks waiting for certification that never came!!!

•Oh no, that's what I'm afraid of! How did you finally find out about the eligibility interview? Did you have to call them?

•YEP had to call them like 50 times before getting through! Then they told me I'd been flagged for an interview 3 WEEKS AGO but the notice "must have gotten lost" 🙄 SUCH BS!

I've seen this issue a few times while helping family with their claims. There's often a simple explanation, but contacting EDD is the only way to know for sure. When did you start your claim? If it's close to hitting the 1-year mark, the system sometimes has issues with the transition. Also, check if your benefit year end date is approaching. Even with funds remaining in your claim, if your benefit year is ending, you'll need to file a new claim which could explain why the certification option isn't appearing. I'd recommend calling EDD to get it sorted out. The earlier in the morning you call (right when they open), the better chance you'll have of getting through.

•My claim started about 7 months ago, so I shouldn't be near the end of the benefit year yet. I tried calling this morning but kept getting the "we're experiencing higher than normal call volume" message and then it hung up on me. So frustrating!

After dealing with similar EDD issues where I couldn't certify, I found Claimyr really helpful for getting through to an EDD agent. It's a service that helps you bypass the busy signals and get in the call queue. Definitely worth checking out at claimyr.com - they have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km I was skeptical at first but it saved me hours of redial frustration last month when my payments got stuck in pending. The agent was able to fix my certification issue in minutes once I actually got through to someone.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check out that video. At this point I'm desperate to talk to someone at EDD and find out what's going on with my claim.

•Yeah, it actually does. Saved me so much time and frustration. The EDD phone system is ridiculous - I was calling for days before I tried this.

This is actually a fairly common issue, and there's typically a logical explanation behind it. Let me walk you through some possible scenarios and solutions: 1) First, check if your claim has a "false end date" issue. Sometimes the EDD system incorrectly calculates when your certification periods should end. Look at your claim history and see if there's any pattern disruption. 2) If you've recently reported earnings that were close to or exceeded your weekly benefit amount, the system might pause your certifications temporarily. This isn't always communicated clearly. 3) Sometimes there's a gap week when EDD adjusts certification schedules across their system. This happens a few times a year and catches people off guard. 4) If you've recently had an eligibility interview or submitted additional documentation, your certification cycle might be paused pending review. Regardless of the cause, contacting EDD directly is your best course of action. Specific issues like this require an agent to look at your individual claim details to resolve.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I haven't reported any earnings or had any eligibility interviews recently. My certification pattern has been consistent every two weeks until now. I'll definitely need to speak with an EDD rep to sort this out.

•Yep, tried that several times. Even tried a different browser and cleared my cache. Still nothing to certify. 😫

Just wanted to check back - any updates? Were you able to get through to EDD and find out what was happening with your certification?

•Yes! Finally got through this morning using that Claimyr service someone suggested. Turns out there was a system flag on my account for "potential unreported income" that needed verification. The EDD rep removed the flag since it was triggered in error and manually pushed through my certification. Already showing in my account now! Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions!

•Glad you got it resolved! This happens more often than EDD would like to admit - their automated systems flag accounts for verification but the notification system doesn't always work properly. Good to know everything's back on track.

•That's such great news! I'm dealing with something similar right now where my certifications just disappeared. This gives me hope that it might just be another system flag that needs to be cleared. Thanks for updating us on the resolution - really helpful to know it worked out!
