EDD Disability Registration Nightmare: Website Freezing, Can't Enter Driver's License Info

I'm trying to register for disability benefits with EDD but I'm having a nightmare of a time. The online system keeps freezing up when I try to enter my driver's license info. I also need my previous unemployment account numbers to complete the paperwork. Anyone else struggling with this? Any tips on how to get through? I need to file ASAP and I'm getting desperate here.

I found a way to solve EDD disability registration issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mLfLRasjxY

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD website is a total dumpster fire 🔥 I had to try like 5 different browsers before I could even log in. Have you tried using incognito mode? Sometimes that helps bypass the glitches.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give incognito mode a shot. Did you have any issues with the driver's license part specifically?

Nah, I didn't have problems there. But I've heard others say that part can be finicky. Maybe try entering it without any dashes or spaces?

incognito mode didnt work for me either. i swear EDD purposely makes it hard to claim benefits 🙄

I've been down this road before, and let me tell you, it's a doozy. Here's what worked for me: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies 2. Try different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, even Edge) 3. Make sure your internet connection is stable 4. Use a desktop computer if possible, mobile can be wonky 5. If all else fails, you might need to bite the bullet and call them As for the previous account numbers, check any old emails from EDD. They usually send confirmations with that info. Hang in there, OP! It's a pain, but you'll get through it.

This is solid advice right here 💯 Especially the part about using a desktop. The mobile site is hot garbage.

Have you tried calling them? I know it's a pain, but sometimes talking to a real person is the only way to get things sorted.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and be ready to dial the second they're supposed to open. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

Calling is useless. I spent 3 days trying to get through. EDD needs to get their act together!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It worked for me and saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I wasted way more than $20 worth of time trying to get through on my own.

idk if this helps, but I had issues with the drivers license part too. turns out I was putting in my old address that was on my license, not my current one. Maybe double check that?

This whole situation is a joke. I've been trying to sort out my disability claim for MONTHS. The system is designed to make us give up. Don't let them win, OP!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? Sometimes they can help push things through when you're stuck in EDD hell.

I hadn't even thought of that. How would I go about contacting them?

Just Google your district and 'assembly member'. They usually have a contact form or number on their website. Explain your situation and they might be able to help!
