EDD Application Mistake: Answered 'No' to Full-Time Work Eligibility Instead of 'Yes' - How to Fix?
Hey everyone, I messed up on my application and need some advice. I accidentally answered 'No' to being eligible for full-time work when I meant to say 'Yes'. Has anyone dealt with this before? How can I fix this error? I'm worried it might affect my claim.

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD website is so confusing sometimes! Call them ASAP and explain the situation. They should be able to update it for you. Good luck!

•Yeah, you're right. It's a total nightmare getting through. I lucked out and got someone after only 3 days of trying. Guess I should buy a lottery ticket too lol

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! You just put in your phone number, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of hold time.

•I get the skepticism, but it's not a scam. They don't ask for any personal info beyond your phone number. It's just an automated system that waits on hold for you.

Listen up, OP. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down when you noticed the error, what the correct answer should be, and why you made the mistake. 2. Try to correct it online first. Log into your EDD account and see if there's an option to update your application. 3. If that doesn't work, you NEED to call them. Yes, it's a pain, but it's necessary. Keep calling until you get through. 4. When you talk to a rep, be polite but firm. Explain the situation clearly and ask them to update your record. 5. Get the name of the person you speak to and a reference number for the call if possible. 6. Follow up with a written statement through your EDD online account or by mail, restating what you discussed on the phone. 7. Keep checking your account to make sure the change is reflected. Don't panic. These things happen, and as long as you're proactive about fixing it, you should be fine. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you send anything by mail, use certified mail so you have proof they received it.

Quick question - how long ago did you submit the application? If it was very recent, you might have a better chance of getting it fixed quickly.

•I submitted it yesterday actually. Noticed the mistake this morning when I was reviewing my confirmation email. 😬

Pro tip: if you cant get through on the main line, try calling some of the other EDD numbers. Sometimes the disability or employer lines have shorter wait times and they can transfer you.

•This is genius! Never thought of that. You're playing 4D chess while the rest of us are playing checkers 😂
