Been since September, I called a number I found after scrolling reddit for a while ended up getting thru and talking to someone after maybe 15min on hold, was told my will be set up around the end of this month, putting me at about 20 or 22 weeks owed, luckly before he hung up on me I was able to ask about the reason I needed to have a was since I never received any mail about it or answers in email, was told I had been claiming while I was working from 4-21 to 8-21. Completely unknown to me I questioned him with little to no response because I never claimed untill September when I refiled what I thought was a new claim, little more digging, found that my debit card has been either stolen or duplicated and has been committed on my claim, I've worked steady up untill September so I would have no reason to even think about that account or anything to do with edd, any advice how I address this situation? Thanks

Wow! If it was I would report to BOA they will issue a new card. When you go online I would go to contact us and there is a pull down for fraud. Report the and what the rep told you. Give that 2 days. Sent another note saying the same thing. Do a cut and paste. 2 days later do the same thing but under the pull down. Where is my payment. Once they start responding Call thru claimyr. Talk about all the above about the and then the back weeks. You have to be persistent and a pain in the ass. They owed me 14 weeks of backweeks. It took me 8 months to get the back weeks. During the time they were paying me back weeks I missed all the extensions. After 6 months and 8 specialist I am just starting to receive 11 weeks of the Peuc extension. They already messed up and gave me 7 so they still owe me 4 of Peuc & weeks on the other 2. It is a long road. Do not give up. As long as they owe you money you will never be broke. Specialist 4 told me I would have an and that Never Happened. They told me online that they would send me a De4800 form to set up an interview. No form or ever happened. Be sure you get the name or number of forms and know you last and your exact dates. Then tell them what they did wrong date wise. If you get someone who doesn't know what they are talking about document it on contact us

This is a really frustrating situation, and I'm sorry you're dealing with on top of the already stressful unemployment process. Here's what I'd recommend: 1. **Report the immediately** - Contact 's hotline and file a report online through their reporting system. You'll want to document that someone fraudulently claimed benefits in your name from 4/21 to 8/21. 2. **Get everything in writing** - When you have your interview, bring documentation proving you were employed during that period (pay stubs, W-2s, employment verification letters). This will help clear up the fraudulent claims. 3. **Contact your bank** - If your debit card was compromised, report it to Bank of America immediately and request a new card. 4. **Keep detailed records** - Document every call, every conversation, and every piece of correspondence. Note names, dates, and reference numbers. 5. **Be persistent** - Unfortunately, resolving issues often requires multiple calls and follow-ups. Don't give up on those 20+ weeks of legitimate benefits you're owed. The good news is that since you have employment records proving you were working when the fraudulent claims were made, you should be able to clear this up. It's just going to take patience and persistence with the system. Good luck!

@Brianna Schmidt This is excellent advice! I d'also add that when you re'documenting everything for the report, try to get copies of your bank statements showing you never received or used any payments during that 4/21-8/21 period when you were working. That additional proof can really help strengthen your case that someone else was fraudulently using your claim. Also, if you haven t'already, check your credit reports to make sure no other accounts were opened in your name. Identity theft sometimes goes beyond just one account. Stay strong - dealing with both AND delays is incredibly stressful, but you have solid evidence on your side since you were legitimately employed during the fraudulent period.
