PFL claim submitted, no response or funds. Need help completing process and understanding wage calculation for payment.

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my PFL claim. I submitted it a while ago and haven't heard anything back or received any funds. I need some help figuring out how to complete the process if I haven't already, and when I can expect the money to hit my account. Also, I'm not sure what wage information they're using to determine the payment. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve PFL claim delays and frustration, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc9Cm-Gd3qg

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call for days, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! ๐Ÿ˜ค

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

It worked for me! Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldnt this be free?

I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, it was a no-brainer.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your documentation is uploaded (medical certification, etc.) 3. Verify your identity if you haven't already (they might use ID.me) 4. For wage info, they usually use your highest quarter earnings from the past 18 months. 5. Processing time can take 2-3 weeks after all docs are in. If you've done all this and still no response, definitely call them. Good luck!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes their emails end up there. Also, make sure your direct deposit info is correct in the system.

Good call, I'll check my spam folder right now!

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 6 weeks now. This system is so broken ๐Ÿ˜ซ

6 weeks? Amateur hour. Try 3 months ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

I hadn't thought of that. How would I go about contacting them?

Just google your area + state representative. They usually have a constituent services office that can help with stuff like this.

Protip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you'll need to prove you've been trying to resolve this.

Anyone else notice that the PFL system seems to be getting worse every year? I swear it used to be easier to deal with ๐Ÿ’…

Preach! ๐Ÿ™Œ It's like they're actively trying to make it harder for us

Hey OP, what kind of PFL are you applying for? Bonding, caregiving, or your own medical condition? The process can vary a bit depending on which one.

Anastasia Kozlov

It's for bonding with my newborn. Does that change anything about the process?

For bonding, make sure you have the birth certificate or hospital records uploaded. They're usually pretty strict about that documentation.
