PDL claim approval and payment delays - anyone else waiting?

Hey everyone, I'm waiting on approval and payment for my PDL claim. Anyone else in the same boat? How long did it take for you to get approved and receive your payment? I'm getting anxious about the whole process.

I feel ya, OP. I've been waiting for my PDL approval for what feels like forever. It's been about 6 weeks now, and still nothing. The waiting game is driving me crazy!

6 weeks? That's rough. I'm only 3 weeks in and already losing my mind. Hang in there!

0 coins

Wow, 6 weeks is a long time. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can speed things up.

0 coins

Yeah, I've tried calling but it's impossible to get through. Always busy or they hang up on me. 😤

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

0 coins

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait once they called you back?

0 coins

Not long at all. Maybe 5 minutes? Way better than being on hold for hours.

I got approved after about 4 weeks, but still waiting on payment. It's been another 2 weeks since approval. This whole process is so slow!

Has anyone else noticed that the PDL system seems to be getting worse? I swear it used to be faster a few months ago. Maybe they're understaffed or something?

I heard they had budget cuts recently. Probably why everything's moving at a snail's pace now. 🐌

Budget cuts or not, this is ridiculous. We need our money!

Here's what I've learned about the PDL approval and payment process after going through it twice: 1. Application submission: This is usually quick, just fill out the online form. 2. Initial review: Can take 2-4 weeks. They check your eligibility and documentation. 3. Approval: If everything checks out, you'll get an approval notice. This can take up to 6 weeks from submission. 4. Payment processing: After approval, it can take another 1-3 weeks for payment to be issued. 5. Payment receipt: Once issued, you should receive the funds within 3-5 business days. Some tips: - Make sure all your documentation is in order before submitting - Check your spam folder regularly for communications - If you haven't heard anything after 6 weeks, try to contact them - Be patient (I know it's hard!) - the process can take up to 10 weeks total Hope this helps! Hang in there, everyone!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! It really helps to know what to expect. I'm at week 5 now, so I guess I need to practice more patience. 😅

This is super helpful! Should be pinned to the top of the subreddit tbh

This timeline is so helpful, thank you @Connor Byrne! I'm at week 4 and was starting to panic thinking something was wrong with my application. Knowing that 6 weeks is normal for approval makes me feel a lot better. Did you have to submit any additional documentation during your process, or was it pretty straightforward once you got everything in initially?

Anyone else feel like they're playing the lottery with these PDL claims? 🎰 Never know when (or if) you're gonna hit the jackpot lol

0 coins

LOL too real 😂 Except the odds of winning the lottery probably feel better at this point

I'm starting to wonder if there's some kind of secret handshake or code word to get these claims processed faster. Anyone cracked the code yet? 🕵️‍♂️

0 coins

If you figure it out, let me know! I'll bring the secret decoder ring 😂

Have you tried saying 'pretty please with a cherry on top' when you submit your claim? I hear that speeds things up by at least 3 weeks! 🍒

Seriously tho, has anyone tried contacting their local representative about this? I'm thinking of reaching out to mine to see if they can help speed things up.

0 coins

I did this last month! My rep's office was actually pretty helpful. They couldn't make miracles happen, but they did get me some answers about my claim status.

That's a good idea. At least it might put some pressure on the system to work faster.

I'm in week 7 of waiting for my PDL approval and honestly starting to lose hope. It's so frustrating because I need this money to cover my expenses while I'm out on leave. The stress of waiting is almost worse than the original reason I needed the leave! Has anyone had success getting through to someone who could actually help expedite the process? I've tried the regular phone lines but like others mentioned, it's nearly impossible to get through. Might have to try that calling service someone mentioned earlier.

@Kendrick Webb I totally feel your frustration - week 7 is rough! The financial stress while waiting definitely makes everything harder. That calling service @Dylan Mitchell mentioned might be worth trying at this point. Also, maybe check if you submitted everything correctly in your original application? Sometimes a small missing document can cause major delays. Hang in there, you re getting'close to that typical 8-10 week window that @Connor Byrne outlined. 💪
