EDD says they don't handle SDI for pay dispute - what to do next?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my pay and I need some advice. I called the EDD to dispute my pay, but they told me they don't handle SDI (State Disability Insurance). I'm really confused about what to do next. Has anyone else run into this problem? What should my next steps be?

Ugh, I feel your pain! 😫 The EDD can be such a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried contacting the SDI office directly? They should be able to help you with any disputes related to disability insurance.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try. Do you happen to have their contact info handy?

I've been there, buddy. The whole system is a mess. Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes there's more info there about your claim status and who to contact for specific issues.

Okay, let me break this down for you: 1. EDD and SDI are different programs, even though they're both run by the state. 2. EDD handles unemployment insurance, while SDI deals with disability insurance. 3. If you're disputing pay related to disability, you need to contact SDI directly. 4. Here's what you should do: - Call SDI at 1-800-480-3287 - Have your claim number ready - Explain your situation clearly - Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help 5. If you can't get through on the phone, try their online portal or send a written appeal. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school, but I got a response within a week when I faxed my dispute. Sometimes the old ways work best with these dinosaur systems lol

•Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it! 😂 Sometimes you gotta go retro to get results.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of hold time.

•20 bucks tho? Idk man, seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not having to sit on hold for hours was totally worth it.

Bruh, the whole system is rigged against us. They make it so complicated on purpose so people just give up. Don't let them win! 😤

Have you considered reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape and get answers from these agencies.

•This! 👆 I did this last year and it actually worked. My rep's office contacted EDD on my behalf and things started moving.
