EDD Paid Family Leave payments stopped since August - Need help getting through to the right department

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't received any payments from EDD for my paid family leave since August. It's been months and I'm getting really worried. I tried calling them but I keep getting redirected to the wrong department. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually get through to the right people at EDD?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that a few times. No luck so far 😞 It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach anyone!

Pro tip: keep calling even if you get a busy signal. Sometimes it takes like 50 tries, but eventually you might get through. It's annoying af but it worked for me.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

20 bucks to actually talk to a human? Sign me up! 🙌 The EDD owes me way more than that lol

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD. It's worth a shot!

Here's what you need to do to resolve your EDD paid family leave issue: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates, times, and any reference numbers. 2. Send a written request: Mail a letter to EDD explaining your situation and requesting an update. Include your claim number and contact info. 3. Contact your state representative: As someone mentioned, your local assembly member can often help expedite EDD claims. 4. File a formal complaint: If you've been waiting more than 30 days, file a complaint with the EDD's Internal Affairs Division. 5. Consider legal aid: If all else fails, contact a legal aid organization that specializes in employment issues. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you have rights and will eventually get your benefits.
