Does EDD PFL still offer discount coupons for Claimyr calling service?

Hey everyone, I'm about to start my baby bonding leave next month and I've heard horror stories about trying to reach EDD by phone. Someone in my mom's group mentioned there used to be discount coupons for a service called Claimyr that could get you through to an EDD rep without the wait. Are these coupons still a thing in 2025? Has anyone used the service recently and how much did it cost? Also wondering if it's even worth using for PFL questions or if I should just plan to spend a day hitting redial like everyone else... My first baby so I'm totally new to this process!

I used Claimyr last week after my PFL claim got stuck in 'processing' status for 3 weeks. I don't think they offer coupons anymore, at least I couldn't find any when I looked. But honestly, it was worth every penny because I was going CRAZY trying to get through on my own. Must have called like 50+ times over several days and never got past the automated system. The service connected me to an actual EDD agent in about 20 minutes and she fixed my claim status right away - turns out there was a mismatch between my application and what my employer submitted.

That's good to know! Did they charge you before connecting you or after? I'm just nervous about paying for something that might not work.

I haven't heard about coupons specifically, but their website (claimyr.com) sometimes has promotions if you check regularly. What I DO know is that if you're filing for baby bonding PFL, having direct access to an agent can save you weeks of stress. When I transitioned from pregnancy disability to baby bonding last month, my claim got held up because I didn't realize I needed to complete a separate DE2508 form. I spent 3 days trying to reach someone before using Claimyr. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM?si=6N1iCQ3a8Cdb2Ay5

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE SERVICES!!!! EDD is a disaster on purpose and these companies are profiting off a broken system! It's RIDICULOUS that we even need to pay extra just to access benefits we're entitled to!! The whole thing is a scam - the government wants to make it hard to get your benefits. I finally got my claim approved after 7 weeks of calling EVERY SINGLE DAY on my own. No one should have to pay extra for basic service!!!

While I understand your frustration with the system, I wouldn't call these services a scam. They're providing a legitimate solution to a real problem. I work in HR and regularly assist employees with their leaves - the EDD phone system is genuinely overwhelmed. These services use technology to navigate the phone tree and wait times. Yes, in an ideal world they wouldn't be necessary, but many people find the time saved worth the cost when dealing with time-sensitive benefit issues.

I thought I saw something about a first time user discount a while back but that might have been for their unemployment services not PFL. My sister had her baby in January and I remember her mentioning something about it. But the service works really well she said. I'm not pregnant yet but planning to try next year so I've been reading a lot of these forums lol.

Thanks! I'll look into whether they have a first-time user discount. And good luck with your future plans! :

I used it 2 weeks ago and I don think there were any coupons but maybe i didn't look hard enuf. It was soooo worth it tho cuz i was going insane trying to reach edd. My baby's 3 months old and i was about to not be able to pay rent cuz my claim was pending forever. They got me thru to an agent who fixed it in like 5 min!! And my payment came 2 days later. seriously the best $$ i've spent.

This was exactly my experience too! The agent I spoke to said they were behind on processing due to some system update, but she manually pushed my claim through once I reached her. Probably saved me weeks of waiting.

To answer your specific question about coupons - I haven't seen any discount coupons for Claimyr specifically for PFL claims in 2025. However, they occasionally offer promotional rates at different times of the year. If your situation isn't urgent, you might want to try the standard EDD contact methods first: 1. Online messages through your EDD account (response can take 5-7 business days) 2. Calling during less busy hours (Wednesdays and Thursdays tend to have shorter wait times) 3. Checking if your question can be answered by your employer's leave administrator If those don't work and you need immediate assistance, then services like Claimyr become more valuable, especially if you're dealing with time-sensitive issues like claim transitions or payment delays.

Thank you for the detailed response! My HR department is... not great, to put it mildly. I'll try the online messages first and see if I get anywhere before resorting to paid services. Hoping my claim goes smoothly but it's good to have backup options.
