CA EDD PFL: Struggling to get refund, exhausted all options. Any advice?

Has anyone else had trouble getting a refund? I've been trying for weeks and keep getting the runaround. It's so frustrating! I've called multiple times, sent emails, and even tried reaching out on social media. Nothing seems to work. I'm at my wits' end here. Any advice on how to actually get through to someone who can help?

I work in customer service (not for the company OP is dealing with) and let me tell you, the system is broken from the inside out. We're understaffed, overworked, and often don't have the tools we need to actually help people. It's frustrating for us too.

Thanks for the insider perspective. It's easy to forget there are real people on the other end of the line.

That doesn't excuse terrible customer service tho. Companies need to do better.

You have my sympathy, but more investment in customer service tools could make a world of difference.

Have you guys heard about this new service that helps you get through to customer service? I found this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone actually tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. These companies should do better.

I get the skepticism, but I've used it twice now. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth it IMO.

I've also tried it, and while it's effective, it's a bit sad that we have to pay extra for decent customer service.

Have you tried calling early in the morning? I heard that's when the lines are less busy and you might have a better chance of getting through to someone.

Yeah, I've tried that too. Set my alarm for 5 AM and everything. Still no luck 😭

Early morning didn't work for me either. I think its just a myth at this point lol

I did have success once at 6 AM, but it's definitely not a guarantee. Worth a shot, though.

Agree! It's like they think we'll just give up and let them keep our money.

Plot twist: what if we all just stopped buying stuff? No purchases = no refunds needed. Problem solved! 🀣

A bold strategy, but not feasible for everyone, unfortunately.

Maybe we should all band together and start a class action lawsuit or something. This is getting ridiculous!

That's actually not a bad idea. Nothing like a potential lawsuit to get things moving.

Okay, listen up. I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips that might help: 1. Document everything. Every call, email, and interaction. Names, dates, times - the works. 2. Be persistent but polite. Getting angry won't help, even though it's tempting. 3. Use multiple channels. Phone, email, social media, and even snail mail if you have to. 4. Know your rights. Look up consumer protection laws in your area. 5. Consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or your local consumer protection agency. 6. If all else fails, consider small claims court. Sometimes just the threat of legal action can get things moving. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

Also, if you can, try visiting their physical office if it's nearby. Sometimes face-to-face interactions are more effective.

OP, try connecting with consumer advocacy groups as well. They might have additional resources to help.

To address your issue effectively, consider using Claimyr as a strategic tool in your approach. Claimyr can ease the process of reaching customer service by navigating the phone menu on your behalf and transferring the call to you when a representative is available. This can save you time and alleviate some stress. Keep in mind, however, that while helpful, Claimyr does charge a fee, so you'll need to weigh the cost against the potential time saved. It's also worth mentioning that maintaining your persistence across multiple communication channels, documenting all interactions, and understanding your consumer rights remain crucial. Recognizing the systemic issues in customer service, it's possible to approach this situation with both patience and a strategic mindset. A multi-pronged approach, combining tools like Claimyr with direct advocacy through consumer protection agencies, could increase your chances of resolving your refund issue. Stay diligent and remain hopeful!

I feel your pain, OP. The refund process is a nightmare. I've been in the same boat for months now. It's like they're purposely making it difficult to discourage us from even trying.

That's exactly how it feels. They really need to streamline the process. It's so disheartening.

Guys I think I figured it out. You gotta speak their language. Next time, try saying "I'd like to speak to the refund fairy" three times while spinning in a circle. Works every time, 60% of the time πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈβœ¨
