Workers Comp Payment Timeframe - How long did it take you to get paid?

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a workers comp issue and I'm trying to figure out the payment timeframe. Has anyone gone through this process recently? How long did it take for you to receive your payments after filing? Any tips on speeding things up would be really appreciated!

I went through this last year. It can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on your case. Make sure all your paperwork is in order and follow up regularly. Don't be afraid to be a squeaky wheel!

2-6 weeks?! 😱 That's insane. How are ppl supposed to survive that long without income?

I know, right? The system is totally broken. I had to borrow money from family just to get by. It's ridiculous.

Squeaky wheel is right! I called every other day and finally got my payment after 3 weeks. Stay on them!

Have you tried calling first thing in the morning? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Listen up, folks. I've been through this rodeo before and here's what you need to know: • First, make sure ALL your paperwork is complete and accurate. Any mistakes can delay the process. • Keep a log of all your calls and interactions with the workers comp office. • If possible, get your doctor to classify your injury as severe or urgent. This can sometimes speed things up. • Don't be afraid to escalate. Ask to speak to supervisors if you're not getting anywhere. • Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. • If you're really struggling financially while waiting, look into temporary disability or unemployment benefits as a stopgap. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Be persistent but polite. Good luck!

Has anyone had luck getting through on the phone? I've been trying for days and it's always busy or I get disconnected. 😤

Actually, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, seriously? Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true.

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It worked for me and saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

$20 to actually talk to a human? šŸ¤” Might have to try this...

PREACH šŸ™Œ It's a total clown show

Conspiracy theory: they make it hard on purpose so people just go back to work injured šŸ‘€

Pro tip: if you can, get a lawyer. I know it sounds expensive, but many work on contingency and only get paid if you win. They can really speed things up.

Does anyone know if the payment timeframe is different for partial vs total disability? My doc says I can work part-time but I'm not sure how that affects things.

In my experience, partial disability can be more complicated. The calculations take longer cuz they have to figure out your reduced earning capacity. Might wanna check with a lawyer on this one.

Just a heads up, I heard they changed some policies recently due to COVID. Might wanna check if that affects processing times.

Oh great, another wrinkle šŸ™„ Any idea where to find info on these changes?

Try checking the official workers comp website for your state. They usually post updates there. Or maybe call and ask about COVID-related changes specifically.
