SDI disability claim stalled after supplemental certification extension - No payments since 9/1, no response to messages. Help!
Anyone else having trouble with their SDI disability claim after submitting a supplemental certification extension? I haven't received any payments since September 1st and I've left several messages asking about the status, but no response. It's been radio silence and I'm getting worried. Any advice on how to get through to someone or speed up the process?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's been 2 months since I submitted my extension and crickets. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling their main line? I've heard some people have luck if they call right when they open.

I've tried calling multiple times but always get the 'high call volume' message and get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call at exactly 8:01 AM. Thats when there usually less of a queue. Good luck!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats a rip-off. The goverment should make it easier to reach them for free!

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny IMO. They even refund you if it doesn't work.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI claims for years: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, messages, and submissions. 2. Be persistent. Call daily if you have to. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite claims. 4. Double-check all your paperwork for errors. One small mistake can cause major delays. 5. If possible, visit an SDI office in person. It's often faster than phone or online. 6. Join SDI-focused Facebook groups. They often have insider tips and updates. Hang in there, OP. The system is slow, but it does work eventually.

I'm curious, what was the reason for your extension? I'm about to apply for one and wondering what qualifies.

My doctor recommended extending my leave due to complications from my original condition. Make sure you have solid medical documentation when you apply!

This whole system is a joke. They expect us to survive without income while they take their sweet time processing claims. It's criminal! 🤬

Preach! 👏 The system is designed to make us give up. Don't let them win!

It's not criminal, it's just underfunded and overwhelmed. Cut them some slack, they're doing there best.

Has anyone tried reaching out to them on social media? I've heard some people have luck getting responses on Twitter.

Guys, I just got through to someone! Here's what worked for me: 1. Called at 7:59 AM 2. Chose option 2, then 4, then 1 3. When it asked for SSN, I pressed # instead 4. Got transferred to a real person within 10 minutes Hope this helps someone!

Wait, what does pressing # instead of entering SSN do?

@profile18 I think it flags your call as a general inquiry rather than a specific claim. Seems to route you to a different queue.
