SDI claim stuck - no payment or updates. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. I filed for state disability and haven't received any payment or updates about my claim. It's been weeks and I'm starting to worry. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do? I tried calling but can't get through to a real person. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Here's what I did: 1. Keep calling every day, multiple times if possible. It's annoying but persistence pays off. 2. Check your online account for any updates or messages. 3. Make sure all your documents are submitted correctly. 4. If you have a disability case worker, try contacting them directly. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Hang in there! The system is frustrating but you'll get through it eventually.

•This is great advice! I'd add that you should also double-check that your employer submitted all the necessary paperwork on their end. Sometimes that's the holdup.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's not ideal, but it got me the answers I needed.

•Can you explain more about how it works? Is it legit?

•Sure! You go to their website, choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and then they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. It's basically like paying someone to wait on hold for you.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck in limbo. Keep calling and ask them to escalate your case to a supervisor. Good luck!

•Oh no, that sounds awful! How long did it take you to get it resolved?

•It took about 3 weeks of constant calling, but I finally got it sorted. Don't give up!

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook can get a response. Worth a shot!

•2 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your state rep?

Friendly reminder to everyone: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online message. It'll help if you need to escalate or appeal later.

•This is so important! I learned this the hard way. Wish I'd known sooner.

unpopular opinion: maybe try going to the office in person if you can? i know its a pain but sometimes face-to-face gets better results

•Be careful with this advice. Some offices are still closed or appointment-only due to COVID. Check their website first!
