SDI application: How to fix incorrect personal details on EDD system?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI application. I submitted all my info but now I'm seeing that some of my personal details are incorrect in the system. Has anyone else dealt with this? I've been trying to get through to EDD for days but no luck. It's so frustrating! Any advice on how to fix this or get in touch with someone who can help?

I found a way to solve incorrect EDD personal details, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GlcgfutH8U

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a nightmare rn. I had a similar issue last month. Took me forever to get it sorted. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works.

I've heard that calling early can help, but it still seems like a gamble. They need a better system in place!

Pro tip: Use the online portal to submit a request for contact. Sometimes they'll call you back within a few days. Worked for me last time!

Where exactly is this option on the portal? I can't find it anywhere!

It's kinda hidden. Go to your claim homepage, then look for 'Contact Us' at the bottom. From there, you should see an option to request a call back.

This is good advice! I had success with this method when I was in a similar situation.

lol welcome to the EDD circus 🤡 where the rules are made up and your personal info doesn't matter

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, seriously? That sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds crazy, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it imo.

If it works, it might be worth the money. Time is valuable too, after all.

Plot twist: what if the incorrect info is actually correct and everything you've known about yourself is wrong? 🤯 jk jk hope you get it fixed soon!

Hey OP, you might want to look into Claimyr a bit more. While there's a fee, many users, like one mentioned here, have found it to be worth the cost due to the time and frustration it saves. However, it's also important to consider the cost against your personal budget. It shouldn't be the only option to fix an issue that should be resolvable through regular channels. Balancing all available options can help manage both stress and expenses.

Okay, here's what you need to do to fix incorrect personal info: 1. Document everything: Write down what's incorrect and have proof of the correct information ready. 2. Keep calling: Yes, it sucks, but persistence is key. Try different times of day. 3. Use the online portal: Submit a request for contact or a message about the issue. 4. If all else fails, write a letter: Send a certified letter to EDD explaining the issue. Include copies (not originals) of documents proving the correct info. 5. Contact your local representative: As someone else mentioned, they can sometimes help. 6. Last resort: Consider using a paid service like the one mentioned earlier if you're really stuck. Remember, stay calm and document all your attempts to contact them. Good luck!

This is great advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls (date, time, who you spoke to if you get through). It can help if you need to escalate later.

Solid advice, especially the part about the certified letter. EDD can't ignore that!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite EDD issues. Worth a shot!

Good point! They have more resources and may be able to push things through more quickly.

Hey OP, just curious - how long have you been trying to get this sorted? I'm on week 3 of my saga 😅

Same boat here. My birthdate was wrong and it took weeks to fix. Keep trying tho, you'll get through eventually. Don't give up!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Just a thought!

Yara Sayegh

That's a good point. It's easy to miss important emails if they get flagged as spam.

Thanks for all the replies! I've been trying to call for days with no luck. Might have to try that calling service if I can't get through soon. This whole process is so stressful 😫

I'm telling you, the whole system needs an overhaul. It's not equipped to handle the volume of claims. We deserve better!

Preach! 🙌 It's 2023, why are we still dealing with these outdated systems?

Totally agree. My friend in another state got her issues resolved in days. California needs to step it up!

Agreed, the technology is so outdated. How can we trust a system that can't handle the demand?
