SDI Extension Form Submitted 2 Weeks Ago - No Response. What to Do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I submitted my disability extension form through my OB almost two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. I'm getting worried because I really need this extension. Has anyone else been in this situation? How long did it take for you to hear back? Any advice on what I should do next or who I should contact? I'm thinking about calling them, but I'm not sure what to say or ask. Any help would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel ya. I was in the same boat last month. It took them almost 3 weeks to get back to me! 😤 Here's what I did: 1. Call them ASAP. Don't wait. 2. Be super nice (even if ur frustrated) 3. Ask for the status of ur application 4. See if they need any more info from u 5. Get a timeframe for when you'll hear back Good luck! The waiting game sucks, but hang in there!

Thanks so much for the advice! Did you just call the main number? I'm worried about being on hold forever.

Yeah, I called the main number. It was a pain, ngl. I was on hold for like 2 hours 💀 But it was worth it in the end.

Pro tip: call right when they open. Less wait time usually!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The system is so broken that we have to pay just to talk to someone? 🤦‍♂️

I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for 3+ hours was totally worth it.

Bruh, the disability office is a joke. I've been waiting for 2 months now. Good luck getting any real help from them. 🤡

Here's a comprehensive guide to follow up on your disability extension: 1. Check Your Online Account: - Log in to your SDI account and check for any updates or messages. - Sometimes they update the status online before contacting you directly. 2. Prepare for the Call: - Gather all relevant documents (claim number, SSN, dates of submission, etc.) - Write down specific questions you want to ask 3. Make the Call: - Call early in the morning for shorter wait times - Be patient and polite with the representative - Clearly explain your situation and ask about the status of your application - Inquire if any additional information is needed - Ask for an estimated timeframe for a decision 4. Document Everything: - Write down the date and time of your call - Get the name of the representative you spoke with - Take notes on what was discussed and any next steps 5. Follow-Up: - If they request additional information, send it ASAP - Mark your calendar for the estimated decision date - If you don't hear back by then, call again 6. Escalate if Necessary: - If you're not getting anywhere, ask to speak with a supervisor - Consider contacting your local state representative for assistance Remember, persistence is key. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself, but always remain courteous. Good luck!

Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' our paperwork? 🙄 Make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them!

Facts! I learned this the hard way. Now I scan everything before I send it in.
