EDD disability extension approved but no payments received - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I extended my disability claim but haven't received any payments since. It's been weeks and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do next? I've tried calling but can't get through to anyone.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a nightmare rn. Have you checked your online account for any updates? Sometimes they post messages there that don't get sent anywhere else.

Yeah, I've been checking my account daily. No new messages or updates. It's like they've forgotten about me 😞

Classic EDD move. They're probably 'processing' your extension. Which means it's sitting in a pile somewhere collecting dust. 🙄

Oof, that sucks. Maybe try reaching out to your local assembly member? I've heard they can sometimes help push things along.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they needed additional medical info from my doctor, but never bothered to tell me. Might be worth checking if there's any missing documentation on your end.

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. Costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without having to pay extra. 😤

I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know? 🤷‍♂️

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds like we're back in 1995, but I swear it worked for me when I was in a similar situation. The fax number should be on their website.

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates and times. 2. Double-check your online account for any pending forms or requests for additional info. Sometimes they hide these in weird places. 3. Contact your doctor's office and make sure they've sent all the necessary paperwork. EDD loves to blame delays on missing medical info. 4. If you haven't already, file an appeal. This can sometimes kickstart the process. 5. Reach out to your local state representative or senator. Their office can often work miracles with EDD. 6. As a last resort, consider contacting local media. Sometimes a little public pressure can get things moving. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them wear you down. You're entitled to these benefits, so keep fighting! 💪

I'm in the exact same boat. Extended my claim 2 months ago and radio silence since then. This system is beyond broken. Solidarity, friend. 😔✊
