No letter or payment from EDD SDI claim - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my disability claim. It's been a while and I still haven't received any letter or payment from the EDD. I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

I found a way to solve EDD disability claim delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9tcYn-CZa8

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD is a nightmare to deal with. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

30 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours last week 😭

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. $20 just to make a phone call? 🤔

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

They don't guarantee it, but they keep trying until they get through. It took about an hour for me, but I didn't have to do anything. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there before sending out letters.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's a joke that people have to jump through so many hoops just to get the benefits they're entitled to. 🤬

It's not just EDD, it's every government agency. They're all stuck in the stone age.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account daily for updates. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through the online portal. 4. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things along. 5. If it's been more than 6 weeks since you filed, you might want to look into filing an appeal. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is slow, but it does work eventually.

This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure all your paperwork is in order. Sometimes delays are caused by missing info.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I heard that sometimes gets faster results.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂

Don't knock it till you've tried it! Faxing actually worked for me when nothing else did.
