EDD SDI claim filed weeks ago, no response. What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my EDD claim. I filed for disability and haven't heard anything back yet. It's been a few weeks and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced long wait times or know what I should do next? I've tried calling but can't get through to a real person. Any advice would be appreciated!

Welcome to the club, buddy. EDD is a nightmare rn. I've been waiting for 2 months with no update on my claim. It's like they're ghosting us all 👻

2 months? That's rough. Have you tried contacting your local assemblymember? I've heard they can sometimes help speed things up.

Just Google 'Find my California Assembly Member' and enter your address. They have staff dedicated to helping with EDD issues.

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is so broken rn its not even funny. Heres what worked for me: 1. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence pays off. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning or late afternoon seemed to work best. 3. Use the online portal to check for updates and send messages. 4. If all else fails, contact your local rep like someone else mentioned. Hang in there! It's frustrating but you'll get through eventually. 💪

Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling at different times. How long did it take for you to finally get through?

It took me about a week of trying before I finally got through. But once I did, they were able to help me sort everything out. Just don't give up!

Guys, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20? Thats kinda steep just to talk to someone... 🤔

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate after weeks of trying to get through. The $20 was worth it to finally get my claim sorted out.

I used it too! Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know? 💁‍♀️

This whole system is a joke. We pay into it our whole working lives and when we need it, we can't even access it. Someone needs to fix this mess! 😤

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult so people just give up.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard it can sometimes get faster results than mailing or uploading online.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But for real, if it works, I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Lol, I know right? But desperate times call for desperate measures. Just make sure to keep the fax confirmation as proof!

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other EDD numbers (like the employer line or tech support). Sometimes you can get transferred to the right department that way.
