No EDD payment since July 11th - What to do when calling CA SDI?
I haven't gotten a payment since July 11th. Its been over a month now and I'm getting worried. I haven't received any letters or notices from EDD. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do when I call them? I'm not sure what to ask or how to get this resolved.

OP, here's a comprehensive guide to dealing with EDD payment delays: 1. Check your UI Online account daily for updates or new messages. 2. Review all mail from EDD carefully - sometimes important info is easy to miss. 3. Prepare a script before calling: - Introduce yourself and provide your claim number - Explain the issue concisely - Ask if there are any holds or pending issues on your account - Request specific next steps 4. Be persistent but polite when calling. The first rep might not have all the answers. 5. Document everything: who you spoke to, when, and what they said. 6. If calling fails, try these alternatives: - Use the UI Online messaging system - Contact your local assembly member or state senator - Check if there are any EDD office hours or events in your area 7. Stay on top of your certifications even if payments are delayed. 8. Join Facebook groups or subreddits for CA unemployment - sometimes you can get good tips there. Remember, the system is overwhelmed, but don't give up. You'll get your money eventually!

Wow, this is super helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this out. I'll definitely use this as a guide when I call.

Great advice! I'd add: if you can't get through on the main line, try the employer line and ask to be transferred. Worked for me!

Also, staying connected with others in similar situations can be a great morale booster and source of information.

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat last month. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like right when they open 2. Have all your info ready - claim number, last payment date, etc. 3. Ask them to check for any flags or holds on your account 4. If they can't help, politely ask to speak to a tier 2 rep Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! Did you have to call multiple times to get through?

Oh yeah, it took me like 50 tries over 3 days 😫 But don't give up!

Same here, persistence seems to be key with EDD. Also, don't forget to double-check your contact details on their system, just in case.

Hey OP, make sure you're still certifying every two weeks even if you're not getting paid. It'll make things easier when they finally fix your account.

Good call, I've been doing that. Fingers crossed it helps!

This! I made the mistake of not certifying and it was a nightmare to fix later.

Yeah, keeping up with certifications ensures that when things do get resolved, there's no further delay due to missed certifications.

have you checked your ui online account? sometimes there's info there that they don't send in the mail

I did, but there's nothing new there. Just shows my last payment from 7/11

I'd recommend regularly checking the online account, especially during off-peak hours, as updates can sometimes appear unexpectedly.

Anyone else notice that EDD problems always seem to spike around the end of the quarter? 🤔 Conspiracy theory time...

Haha, could be! Or it might just be a coincidence. Still, it's frustrating.

Have you checked if there's been any changes to eligibility requirements? Sometimes they update stuff and don't tell anyone 🙄

Right?! An email or a notification would be nice, but sometimes it's up to us to stay on top of these things.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was an identity verification issue that they never told me about. Definitely call and ask if there are any pending issues on your account.

Identity verification seems to be a common issue. Always good to double-check all forms of communication for any overlooked requests.

For anyone considering using Claimyr, while it is a valid service, keep in mind that it is not officially endorsed by any government agency. Always exhaust other free resources first and weigh the cost benefit.

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD issues.

I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

Just google "[your city] assembly member" and it should come up. Send them an email explaining your situation. They usually have staff dedicated to helping with EDD problems.

This is great advice! Local representatives often have more pull with state agencies than we realize.

System upgrades happen, but it would be nice if they communicated this better to avoid confusion.

Another tip: keep a record of any communication or attempt to communicate with EDD. A timeline of your efforts can be helpful if you need to escalate the situation.

I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20??? That's crazy, why should we have to pay to talk to EDD? 🤔

It's totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it worked for me. They don't ask for any personal info, just your phone number to call you back.

While Claimyr is a useful service for some, it's always a good idea to weigh cost versus benefit and consider reaching out to EDD through all available free channels first.
