EDD unemployment claim stuck for over a month - no updates or payments. What to do?

I've been waiting over a month for my unemployment claim to be processed and haven't received any payments. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting really worried because I haven't heard anything from EDD. No updates, no letters, nothing. It's been radio silence. I'm not sure what to do next or if there's something I'm missing. Any advice would be appreciated!

Same here. I heard sometimes even legit emails get flagged as spam, so definitely worth a check.

So happy for you! Gives me hope that it might just be a waiting game.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you need to be proactive and reach out.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Good luck with that. I spent 3 days straight trying to get through. Its like trying to win the lottery 🎰

Calling is useless. I got through once after 4 hours on hold, and they just told me to wait. What a joke 🤡

I even tried calling at odd hours hoping it would be easier to get through, but no luck. Any other tips?

It's so frustrating how long it's taking. We're all in this together. Stay strong!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

I tried Claimyr too, and it actually connected me to someone after days of trying the regular way. Worth the shot if you're desperate.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading? I heard it might be faster.

Faxing seems outdated, but I guess any method that might expedite the process is worth trying.

For anyone considering using Claimyr, it can be a helpful tool if you're struggling to reach EDD. It's true that it costs $20, but many users have reported success in getting through to a live agent after trying unsuccessfully on their own. However, it's important to weigh this cost against your current financial situation. Also, remember that EDD's offices are overloaded at the moment, so even after getting through, you might be advised to wait. You should combine using Claimyr with other methods like contacting your local assembly member or checking your UI Online account regularly for updates. This balanced approach might increase your chances of resolving the issue faster.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account daily for any updates or messages. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. Double-check that you've provided all required documents. 4. If you received any mail from EDD, respond immediately. 5. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 6. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help expedite claims. Remember, the system is overwhelmed right now, so patience is key. But don't be afraid to advocate for yourself!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member.

This is solid advice. The assembly member tip is gold. They helped me get my claim unstuck after 2 months!

Also, social media can sometimes help bring attention to your case if you tag the right people. Worth a try!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for work instead of waiting for a handout? 🤷‍♀️

Not everyone has options, especially during these times. We need to support each other.
