EDD unemployment checks delayed for a month despite submitting claim form - What to do?
I haven't received my unemployment checks for a month now, even though I filled out the continue to claim benefits form. I submitted the form and got confirmation that EDD received it, but nothing since then. No payments, no updates, nothing. It's been radio silence. I'm getting really worried and frustrated. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Hot take: what if we all just showed up at the EDD office? Like, physically? They can't ignore us if we're right there, right? ðĪ

Guys, please don't do this. It won't help and you could get in trouble. Stick to legal methods.

Protests can be powerful, but also consider their potential consequences. Keep it peaceful and lawful.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your address is correct in the system. I've heard of checks being sent to old addresses.

Good point! I missed an important email because it was in spam. Always worth a check.

I wrote a script that auto-dials EDD every 30 seconds. Took me 3 days but I finally got through. If anyone wants the code, DM me.

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a "flag" on my account that needed to be cleared. Keep trying to get through to someone - once you do, they can usually fix it pretty quick.

What kind of flag? How did you find out about it?

It was some identity verification thing. I only found out when I finally got someone on the phone. They never notified me about it ð

Has anyone tried tweeting at EDD or their officials? Sometimes public callouts on social media can get their attention.

Social media can be surprisingly effective. Try it, but stay civil to increase chances of a response.

Hey OP, regarding your situation, it might be worth considering external services like Claimyr, as suggested by one of the comments. They offer a service that connects you to live agents by handling the hold time, at a fee of $20. It has helped some people reach EDD when other methods have failed. However, it's understandable to be cautious about paying for such services, especially given the circumstances. Balancing pros and cons is crucial here. You might also want to stay connected with community support groups online, many of which share up-to-date information and collective experiences that could prove helpful. Also, engaging with your local representatives persists as one of the more effective ways to expedite resolving these bureaucratic delays. They can often push for faster processing if your situation is severe. Ultimately, patience and perseverance are key. Keep documenting your efforts and trying various channels of communication. The system is under immense pressure, and while it may take time, resolution is possible with persistent efforts.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Hey OP, make sure you're still certifying for benefits every two weeks even if you're not getting paid. If you stop, it could mess up your claim even more.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you submitted forms, any confirmations you received, and all your attempts to contact them. 2. Try reaching out through multiple channels. Call, email, and even consider sending a physical letter. 3. Contact your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 4. Check your EDD account online regularly for any updates or messages. 5. Make sure all your information is up to date and there are no discrepancies in your claim. 6. If possible, try to find temporary work or assistance while you wait. I know it's tough, but it might help in the meantime. 7. Join Facebook groups or forums dedicated to EDD issues. Sometimes you can get good advice or at least commiserate with others in the same situation. Hang in there, OP. The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing. You'll get your money eventually!

Guys I think I cracked the code. If you press 2, then 4, then do the Konami code, then yell "EDD PLEASE" three times, you get through instantly. Trust me, my cousin's friend's dog walker tried it and it worked.
