Need help with IME extension for EDD - process and tips?
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my IME extension. I need to get it extended but I'm not sure about the process. Has anyone gone through this before? What should I expect? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

I went through this last year. It can be a bit of a hassle, but don't worry too much. First thing you need to do is gather all your medical documents that support your need for an extension. Make sure they're recent and clearly state why you need more time.

In my experience, it took about 2-3 weeks to hear back. But I've heard it can vary. Just keep following up if you don't hear anything after a month.

ugh, the IME extension process is such a pain 🙄 I had to do it twice last year. Make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them. They lost my paperwork the first time around and I had to start all over again.

I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I don't think there's a hard limit, but from what I've heard, they start scrutinizing your case more closely after the second extension. Make sure you have solid medical evidence!
