Missed call from SDI about disability case update - what to do now?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on my disability insurance case. I filed a while back and haven't heard anything. Just missed a call from them and now I'm worried. Anyone else dealing with this? How long did it take for you to get an update on your case?

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting for MONTHS on my disability case. It's like they forget we exist or something. Have you tried calling them back?

•I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. 🙏

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? 🤔

•It worked for me! Saved me hours of hold time. Totally worth the $20 imo.

•Why should we have to pay to talk to someone about our benefits? The system is so broken 🤮

•I get it, but for me, time is money. I'd rather pay $20 than waste a whole day on hold.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with SDI: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, letters, and interactions. 2. Be persistent. Call regularly for updates. 3. Have all your info ready when you do get through (claim number, dates, doctor info, etc.) 4. Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. 5. Join online support groups for more tips and emotional support. 6. If you're really stuck, look into getting a disability advocate. Hang in there, OP. The process can be slow, but don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, buddy. Filed 3 months ago and still crickets. This whole system needs an overhaul.

Anyone else notice that they seem to be processing claims faster for certain types of disabilities? Or is it just me being paranoid? 🤔

•I've heard that too! My friend with a physical injury got approved way faster than me (mental health claim). Not sure if it's true or just coincidence tho.

•That would be discrimination if true. Has anyone looked into filing a class action about wait times?

Pro tip: If you fax your documents instead of mailing them, it can speed up the process. Just make sure to keep the fax confirmation!

•People still use fax machines? What year is it, 1995? 🤣

•Lol I know it sounds old school, but trust me, it works! Government agencies love their fax machines 🤷♂️

•Did you do anything special to get it approved or just wait it out?

•Honestly, I just waited. But I did call every 2 weeks for updates. Maybe that helped? idk
